Modibo “le gaucher” Diabate è nato a Segu, in Mali. Oggi è tra i chitarristi più noti e apprezzati del suo paese, vantando una quantità incredibile di collaborazioni.
Genio della chitarra elettrica e acustica, dallo stile unico, la sua musica è al tempo stesso tradizionale bambara, blues, funky e rock. Con il suo gruppo elettrico - assieme a sua moglie, la celebre cantante Majari Drame - è in grado di produrre performance dal vivo che lasciano ammutoliti.

Mamadou suona la kora, l’arpa a 21 corde dei mandingo. E’ fratello di Toumani Diabate e figlio del grande Sidiki Diabate, “il re della kora”.
Considerato “tesoro nazionale” dal governo del Mali, assieme a suo fratello e a suo cugino Ballake Sissoko è il più grande interprete del suo strumento.
Giovanissimo, Ha suonato con tutti i più grandi interpreti del Mali e della Guinea, e ha pubblicato il suo primo disco – Mariam – nel 2006.
In duo assieme a sua moglie Safi, contante brava e molto nota nel suo paese, può dar vita a un concerto magico e intenso.

For some people Africa is a continent left behind, a pre-modern society unable to keep the pace with the rest of the world. For us, those who only focus on this aspect of Africa, are loosing out the best part of it, and implicitly deny the African society the possibility to catch up on.
In order to understand and to appreciate today’s Africa, it is not enough to evoke its bad luck and its rights. It is not enough also to be satisfied with the myth of the vanished world, of an eco-sustainable tradition that is man sized. The African culture needs to be discovered and known, but in order for this to happen it has to be made available. TP Africa
wants to be a small bridge that reaches a vivacious land. The suffix TP – Tout Puissant (almighty) – wants to highlight Africa’s potentials, that are often not expressed, but also when they are, like with the music, they tend to remain often unknown.
Wallai Records promotes the listening of this music often forgotten; making available the cultural manufactures that otherwise would be inaccessible.

Ma per comprendere e apprezzare l’Africa di oggi non basta solamente invocarne la sfortuna o i diritti, e neanche accontentarsi del mito di un mondo scomparso, di una tradizione eco-sostenibile e a misura d’uomo. La cultura dell’Africa va scoperta e conosciuta, ma affinché ciò avvenga deve essere disponibile. TP Africa
vuole essere un piccolo ponte per accedere a una terra fremente. Il suffisso T.P. - Tout Puissant (che può tutto) - vuole evidenziare il potenziale dell'Africa, che a volte non si esprime, ma anche quando accade, come nella musica, rimane spesso sconosciuto.
Wallai Records promuove l'ascolto di quella musica troppo spesso dimenticata rendendo diponibili quei manufatti culturali che diversamente sarebbero inaccessibili.
