Movies
current stuff that's out on DVD that's well worth watching: Once, The Fountain, The Namesake. August Rush was an uplifting film, the critics were very unfair to that movie--they didn't seem to recognize the mystical feeling the story evoked.
Television
All of my favorite shows got cancelled during the writers' strike: Journeyman, Cane.... But thank heaven The Riches came back with 7 episodes this season. Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver are fantastic.

Essential text to own: Walden by Thoreau. Books that have saved my life: Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss; Soul Stories by Gary Zukaf; Journey of Souls by Michael Newton; I Know why the Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelou.
Favorite poem of all time: The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, by T.S. Eliot (this poem should be required reading for everyone on the planet)
