About me: Walter “Wally B.” Jennings is a native of Tampa, FL and has been writing poetry for 19 years and performing publicly for the past 9 (be sure to read his blog "When and Where I feel in love w/poetry/spoken word/slam"). He is the founder of “Black on Black Rhyme-Tampa”, one of Tampa’s largest and longest running poetry shows.
Wally B. has shared the stage with some of the nation’s most popular entertainers, including: K-Ci & Jo-Jo, Chrisette Michele, Silk, Dave Hollister, Comedians Steve Brown, Marvin Grooms, Def Poetry on Tour, and the legendary Last Poets.
Wally B.’s poetical talents have allowed him to perform in several venues, such as: St. Louis, MO (Legacy Bookstore), Birmingham, AL (22nd Jazz Café), Charlotte, NC, Miami, FL (Funk Jazz Lounge), The University of Florida, The University of South Florida, The University of Tampa, & Florida A& M University.
Wally B. is an original member of Back Talk Poetry Troupe, one of the most respected and well known poetry collectives in the nation. The troupe is responsible for the creation of Black on Black Rhyme, Incorporated (www.blackonblackrhyme.com) and produces shows in: Tallahassee, Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville, Rochester, NY, & Atlanta, GA. This fast pace youth poetry slam is the largest of its kid in the state of Florida.
