Hi everyone. The songs here were very roughly recorded on a now discontinued radio cassette-corder, but recently cleaned up and transferred onto CD by Adrian Finn of Great Bear. Thanks for a great job, Adrian. I've long intended re-recording them properly, but being a techno-neanderthal and a recluse to boot I haven't got 'round to doing that yet so I'm afraid these rough "demos" will have to do for now. They were all written by me excepting "Summer Song", whose verse was based on an original tune by Rob Edmunds. Thanks, Rob. OK, now for the formal bit which is to say my biog. Sorry if it's a little po-faced / Carl Halling is an actor, singer, songwriter and writer, residing in the southwestern suburbs of his home town of London, England. He was educated at the French Lycee, Pangbourne College, Brooklands College, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the University of London among other places of learning. As an actor, he made early professional appearances at the Bristol Old Vic and the Old Vic, London. Further engagements included appearing as Feste in Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and as Roote in “The Hothouse” by Harold Pinter at the Rose and Crown Theatre, London. He had a singing role in “Miss Morison’s Ghosts” (1981), written by Ian Curteis, and directed by John Bruce for Anglia Television. His hobbies include the Internet, watching DVDs/videos, and reading. He's been writing since the 1970s, but in 1993 he destroyed most of what he'd written up until that point, and in about 1998 more or less gave up creative writing altogether. Finally, in January 2006, he started tentatively publishing pieces at the Blogster website with the first autobiographical one being written sometime around the spring of 2006. Since then he's written copiously, including the experiment in memoir writing in the form of a novella which is also a testimony of his CHRISTIAN FAITH, "Rescue of a Rock and Roll Child" and the first few sections of a further autobiographical work, "Tales from the Halling Valley".
