What do I like in music........I hate this question because it makes me feel like I have to name one type or genre of music and that is impossible for me. It depends on my mood. For example, in the little tray of my old truck, there is a tape of bluegrass lying next to one of classical oboe. As in any art form, most music has merit, some more, some less.

If the definition of a "hero" is one who inspires a person, I would have to say Professor Patricia Bailey was my hero. She taught me that although I had a special talent for seeing, and creating, I needed to work, work, work! Also, Professor Susan Ledford is my hero for helping me find myself intelectually and for diagnosing me as an extreme introverted thinker and all that entails.
About me: I suppose I can say I am an artist. I put colored oils on canvas and masonite and show them in galleries and have sold a few. I once felt uncomfortable calling myself an artist because I felt that was for others to decide. I have since decided to alter my definition of "artist" to include one who puts colored oils on canvas and others think enough of his/her work, to purchase them. After all, at 58 years of age, I cannot wait forever to hear somone call me an artist, therefore I have decided to lighten up on my definition. I suppose I placed too much esteem on the title, but after much reflection and self examination, I have grown comfortable with calling myself that and shall stick with it. I have read where Andrew Wyeth wrote a check to cover the cost of a meal he had gotten in a small diner and doodled a small drawing on the back of it. The check was written for a small amount, less than $10, but the drawing on the back is probably worth many hundreds of dollars. I would like to achieve that kind of recognition, but, time is of the essence!
Who I'd like to meet: I'd like to meet my old gang, known collectively by us as "Friends of Leonardo"! I miss drinking beer and eating great pizza at the open air establishments in Asheville NC.
