GeneralA few of my favorite things: Photography, Music, Flea markets, my Newfoundland "children" -- Pookie Adams and Autumn Miller -- Books, Movies, Art... Cooking... Apple products... Cloudy days... Cold weather, Yellow daffodils... The light after the rain... The smell of pine trees... The Sutro, in San Francisco, Weekends in the country, Silver gelatin prints, Scratchy old records and turn tables as well... Lazy afternoons in bed... The sweaters that my mom makes me... And some of my favorite places are: San Francisco, New York, Rio... and wherever my heart might be.
The magician behind my gorgeous layout is Ant. (Ant's Space!)
The pine cones were beautifully designed by Asuka from +Scimese Studios+
and the little pink hearts are a creation of Whitney Bailey-Hicks. Thank you for making MySpace so special, with your many talents.

   Walter Briski, Jr.'s Blurbs
About me:

I was born in Brazil, on July 6th, 1967 and raised in a little town called Vinhedo, near São Paulo. I grew up in family of one brother and two sisters. I remember being fascinated by music at very early age and I also remember being introduced to Ray Conniff, Dionne Warwick, Burt Bacharach and Carpenters. Another passion of mine, besides music, has always been photography, and I worked as a photographer in Brazil, for many years, but it wasn't until I turned twenty-five that I moved to New York City. I wanted to assist Bruce Weber, though he hooked me up with Interview Magazine, when I knocked at his studio, looking for a job. "You are talented and should have a bright future. Just keep taking pictures... I haven't been to Rio in a long time and seeing these beautiful pictures, it made me realize how much I missed Rio and Brazil and its people." So, after a few weeks, I got a call from Interview magazine, while I was working as a busboy, and after my first assignment, Chris O'Donnell, I shot Kevin Smith, Carole King, and some others, in between many other different jobs, assisting different photographers, including David Allison, who was working for The Metropolitan Museum, doing a book on The Herter Brothers furniture... But it wasn't until a few years ago that I became a master black and white printer and had the privilege to work with the photographers: Gordon Parks, Bruce Weber, Steven Klein, Steven Meisel, James Nachtwey, Ellen Von Unwerth, Antonin Kratochvil, Flip Schulke, Annie Leibovitz, Matthew Barney -- for his solo show at the Guggenheim Museum -- and a few others. But when digital photography came along, I studied digital photography at School of Visual Arts and got a great gallery to rep me: "ClampArt".

Who I'd like to meet:
Musicians whose work I admire. And I must admit, that I have been pretty lucky so far, because I have met most of them already: Corinne Drewery & Andy Connell -- the most fab duo on Earth! -- from Swing Out Sister, Tracey Thorn *sigh*, Ben Watt, Burt Bacharach, Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory -- both, drop dead gorgeous! -- from Goldfrapp, Boy George, Ray Conniff, Carole King, the superb Jay Denes, Lisa Shaw, Bebel Gilberto, the legendary Jimmy Webb, the multitalented artist/singer/composer Tom Baxter, Rumer, whom I spent two weeks with in New York and Pennsylvania, shooting her album cover, listening to her singing live at The Duplex 'The Way We Were' and 'rediscovered' Tootsie with, and Neil Tennnant & Chris Lowe, from Pet Shop Boys -- grand, grand, grand! (This list keeps getting bigger and bigger!)
