About me:
I was born in Brazil, on July 6th, 1967 and raised in a little town called Vinhedo, near São Paulo. I grew up in family of one brother and two sisters. I remember being fascinated by music at very early age and I also remember being introduced to Dionne Warwick, Burt Bacharach, Ray Conniff and Carpenters. Another passion of mine, besides music, has always been photography, and I worked as a photographer in Brazil, for many years, but it wasn't until I turned twenty-five that I moved to New York City. I wanted to assist Bruce Weber, though he hooked me up with Interview Magazine, when I knocked at his studio, looking for a job. "You are talented and should have a bright future. Just keep taking pictures... I haven't been to Rio in a long time and seeing these beautiful pictures, it made me realize how much I missed Rio and Brazil and its people." So, after a few weeks, I got a call from Interview magazine, while I was working as a busboy, and after my first assignment, Chris O'Donnell, I shot Kevin Smith, Carole King, and some others, in between many other different jobs, assisting different photographers, including David Allison, who was working for The Metropolitan Museum, doing a book on The Herter Brothers furniture...
But it wasn't until a few years ago that I became a master black and white printer and had the privilege to work with the photographers: Gordon Parks, Bruce Weber, Steven Klein, Steven Meisel, James Nachtwey, Ellen Von Unwerth, Antonin Kratochvil, Flip Schulke, Annie Leibovitz, Matthew Barney -- for his solo show at the Guggenheim Museum -- and a few others.
But when digital photography came along, I studied digital photography at School of Visual Arts and got a great gallery to rep me: "ClampArt".

And I must admit, that I have been pretty lucky so far, because I have met most of them already: Corinne Drewery from Swing Out Sister -- though I have not met the other half of the band: Andy Connell! -- Tracey Thorn *sigh*, Ben Watt, Burt Bacharach, Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory from Goldfrapp, Boy George, Ray Conniff, Carole King, Jay Denes, Lisa Shaw, Bebel Gilberto, the legendary Jimmy Webb and recently, the multitalented artist/singer/composer Tom Baxter. (This list keeps getting bigger and bigger!)
Yep....the sad truth about the economy crisis/depression! :-( Have you ever thought about to open a public photography studio/shop? Or do you work independently almost excusively for private people? Btw....you are so right with the overpriced Simply Red tickets!! Almost all Fans are pissed off because of that!! It was never so expensive like now to see Simply Red live on stage! :-( My ticket costs 71.50 Euro. Its a shame!
Hmmmmm, flat broke sounds not good! How could this happen....no job offers these days for you?! Perhaps you will get a chance to get your ticket by auction on ebay! :-) I have luck and my mom will buy me the ticket as early christmas gift. Yay! Btw....I am surprised that Simply Red will only give two concerts next year in the whole United States. Thats not fair for the US Fans! :-(
Hello sweetheart.. Haven't been around much, too much work.. Got so many news, dunno where to start from. Yes, I went to Roisin's concert and YES she's damn fabulous! I had such a great time, she was fantastic and the crown (for once alas!) was really great! It was such an uplifting experience! I think I finally got my compensation for all the mediocre concerts I went this year.. I was thinking about you during the concert, what a pity you werent around.. :(
Holla Walter, do you have already tickets for Simply Red in New York next year?? Yesterday I booked my ticket for Nürnberg and yay, I got a great seat in the third row in front of the stage!! Sadly I need to go alone because I dont have much SR Fans in my circle of friends! :-( But hey, a lot of fans will be there so hehe, I am not alone!!
