Born and raised in Manhattan, Walter has started acting in high school theatrical productions. His first leading role was as Det. McCleod in">
Detective Story". Whooptie fucking do. However, A high school teacher and drama director, who played Fr. Dyer in the classic "Exorcist " (1973) introduced him to theater. It became more than just an extra-curricular activity.
Walter has studied under Susan Batson @ Black Nexxus NYC and was cast as Scott at his first audition - for the AFI, Casting Society of America, Independant Spirit, Stockholm & Sundance Film Festival nominated film "L.I.E.".
Walter appeared as his real-life grafitti alter-ago (Hyste) in Adam Bhala Lough's hip-hop film, "Bomb the System", featuring a soundtrack by Def Jam's El-P.
Recent feature film roles include a modern day epic about a little known group of patriots living as activists for the independence of their homeland in "I Believe In America" (post-production). Walter plays the young incarnation of a Puerto Rican revolutionary. The film is gathering buzz , and featured in the New York Times.
Currently in post-production, Walter will appear in the unlikely latin-american horror flick "Sacred Game" as a wendigo, a supernatural creature derived from Native American lore. Masterson has recently become active the NYC theater community and continues to study with Susan Batson.
