Nice guitars, new strings, fun people to jam with every now and then.
Sounds Like
Well if I sound like someone its for sure not on purpose. I have never been able to copy songs note for note. I well appreciate those that do or can. It just ain't me.
After decades living in San Diego area I have moved to the California Desert around Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley. Hotter than hell in the summer but beautiful the rest of the year. I typically do a solo gig. I play corporate functions, city festivals, private partys, bars, dives and honky tonks.

My most favorite is playing National Resonator guitars and the old traditional blues. The newer Nationals post 2007 have a new alloy in the aluminum cones that is reminiscent of the early resonators. They are louder, have more sustain and magic harmonics going on, and just plain nasty. Second favorite is my Martin OM-28 and Blueridge parlor slide guitar. Last but not least I like Gibson's a lot.

I am fortunate to play with some outstanding musicians in my little blues band MUDDY SPARKS. Joel Selzer on harmonica, an Bobby Furgo on violin and keyboards.
Muddy Sparks plays “good time dance music for hard times”. Rolling Stones, Marshall Tucker Band, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Creedece Clearwater, Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, to name a few. Its always a fun party dance night with Muddy Sparks guys. If you’re not smiling you aren’t dancing right.

Just checking in to tell you that you have been an inspiration. We have written a song called 'Big Man Blues' and it has 'Joshua Tree' in the lyrics... Now if that isn't a fine thing, I don't know what is! It will be on the new album coming out in the Spring.
Great set last night man. Very nice. I too am a fan of a nice National Resonator! Keep in touch - i tend to come over once a year, so hopefully see you and play with you again soon.

"I went down to the crossroads tried to flag a ride" Robert Johnson and... Walt Young !!!
Crossroads !
"More than any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other, to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly". Woody Allen
Hello my friend ! So glad to read you this morining with my coffee !
Hopefully you are well and peace in your heart... I still would like to be near you to play the blues. Take care,
Walt, I recorded "Ain't no sunshine when she's gone" and uploaded it on my player. I dédicated this song for you and what you know... (... so for me too) 2 versions : the video is for my friend Olli (The Mojo Express) and the song for those in pain...
So, a thought for you, my friend who's in pain (as mine) and everybody in this situation. In french it's said : "un seul être vous manque et tout est dépeuplé..." "The one miss you and all is depopulated ..." (I tried to translate...)
Death is worst than broken love, worst than all...
