| About Waltz Darling |
|
Well, the last 15 years have been a crazy journey, and the last 6 have been quit a trip, albeit an interrupted one. Atila is Hungarian. His cousin, Robert, hails from just across the Serbian border. Their disagreements are the stuff of legend. And high comedy. They started all of this in 1993. Rich's background is Polish. And German, for added effect. He added his unique self and talent to the mix in 1996. Michael's grandparents were Russian Jews, who ran from pitchfork-wielding neighbours. Michael showed up in 2002. We were on our best behaviour, thinking he would not notice our simmering Slavic emotions. He may play drums, but he's not that stupid. Needless to say, the influence of our Eastern European roots has always been woven into our music, and our passion for all styles sustains us. It also facilitates colourful arguments. Nothing changes. We split in 2004 only to reform with renewed inspiration in 2007. We missed doing what we love the most. We really love this kind of music and yearned to once again play the sounds we once made, even while working with other projects and just living our lives. This music is in our blood and always has been in one form or another since childhood. So, then...in keeping with our original mission: DRINK...DANCE...FUCK!!
