One sunday I was hanging around my apartment, and I had an idea. It was a hot Atlanta day and I needed to get out of the city. Off I went north to a little spot I heard about on the web. I found myself comfortable topless and kilted, padding through the woods to the sound of rushing water on my right. Finding a secluded spot I settled into the water, feeling it slide by my skin, the rapids pushing the smooth liquid all around and over me.
I find myself as comfortable exploring an unknown woods, as gliding across the floor to a waltz or a jig. I find the rush of presenting to a large crowd envigorating and working though a new problem stimulating.
Justice Harry Blackmun, Roe v Wade, Jan 22, 1973:
"The detriment that the State would impose upon the pregnant woman by denying this choice altogether is apparent... Maternity, or additional offspring, may force upon the woman a distressful life and fortune. Psychological harm may be imminent. Mental and physical health may be taxed by the child care. There is also the distress, for all concerned, associated with the unwanted child, and there is the problem of bringing a child into a family already unable, psychologically and otherwise, to care for it."
William McDonough at Bioneers 2000
You really need to listen to this whole thing, its an amazing talk and it gets me all worked up and excited.
