Weekend Adventures Magazine www.wamonline.com is an award-winning quarterly magazine that features outdoor adventures, exciting destinations, and historical places in Western Maryland, The Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania, and The Potomac Highlands of West Virginia.

Launched in print and online in 1997, from a humble beginning - just 2,000 copies printed and distributed - the publication quickly grew to more than 60,000 complimentary copies annually and developed a loyal grassroots readership (in both print and online) of active, upscale, adults who love travel, history, nature, events and outdoor recreation in the mountains of Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

In 2000 and 2001, Weekend Adventures Magazine was the recipient of back-to-back West Virginia Tourism Awards for our outstanding editorial coverage of the Mountain State.

Today, Weekend Adventures Magazine Online www.wamonline.com has grown to replace our print publication but our mission remains the same – to promote the mountains, their natural resources, historical places, recreational opportunities and businesses. That’s why since 1997 we have been a trusted resource and known widely as - Your Guide to the Mountains.

Weekend Adventures Magazine is published by Away Media – a 100% locally owned and operated company. We are headquartered in historic Frostburg, Maryland, a small college town in the central Appalachian Mountains… but when we aren’t working, you will most often find us exploring and playing in these beautiful mountains we call home.
