Wandar spielen melodischen Black/Pagan Metal, der sich an der musikalischen Ästhetik des skandinavischen Metal orientiert, ohne dabei dessen Stereotypen zu reproduzieren und vorgetretene Pfade einzuschlagen. Die Einflüsse reichen vom traditionellen Black Metal der zweiten Generation über schwedischen Death Metal bis hin zu Folklore und Klassik.
Unsere Musik ist eingängig und abwechslungsreich zugleich, ineinanderfließende Harmonien stehen neben Headbanger-Rhythmen, extremem Gesang und Akustikparts. Dezent eingesetzte Synthies unterstützen die eher raue, nordische Stimmung. In dieser Kombination kreieren Wandar ein episch-atmosphärisches Bild, voller Gefühle, Sehnsüchte und Aggressionen. Wäre die Musik ein Bild, würden sich darauf Gletscher, Berge und Wälder ebenso finden wie Met-Hörner, Feuer und endlose Dunkelheit.
Die lyrischen Einflüsse sind neben der nordischen Mythologie die Philosophie der Aufklärung, die Philosophie des ausgehenden 19. Jahrhunderts, die Magie des Pfades zur Linken und die Verachtung der neuen modernen Welt.
Wandar gehen ihre Pfade seit 2005 gemeinsam. Der Bassist Saschko begleitet uns seit 2007. Anfang 2008 wurde das Erstwerk „Vergessenes Wandern“ veröffentlicht, das unter www.wandar.de bestellt werden kann.

Metal Message
Wandar plays melodic Black Metal, which is orientated towards the aesthetic of Scandinavian Metal music, without reproducing any stereotype and walking along preceding path. The influences vary from traditional Black Metal of the second generation to Swedish Death Metal, Folklore and classical music.
The music is catchy and diversified at the same moment; interlocking harmonies oppose not only head banger rhymes, extreme singing and acoustic parts. Discreet adopted synthies support the rather raw Nordic voice. Within this combination Wandar create an epic-atmospherically image full of emotion, longing and aggression.
If music was a picture, Wandar would display a glacier, mountains and forests as well as mead horns, fire and endless darkness.
The lyrical influences are, besides the northern mythology, the philosophy of the enlightenment and the philosophy of the outgoing 19th century, the Magick of the left hand path and the disrespect of the new engineered world.
Wandar was born in 2005. Saschko is a member of Wandar since March 2008.
