   About warblefly

Click on the pic to watch a clip (courtesy of Wallingford Bunkfest):

fROOTS magazine: Levellers type aggression, Pogues cheek and drinking potential, yet an anchor in the tradition that makes them an effective bridge between those who like to drink, party and dance and those who like more decorum and something structured to hang their jollies on

The Scallywag Show: One of the best bands out there. A must have.

Friends of Shane: Playing a blend of traditional songs and w a r b l e f l y originals the band delivered a good kicking to folk music, playing it as it should be played - loud, fast and fun

shitenonions: With their mix of folk and punk and their attention given to the instrumental passages, w a r b l e f l y are true originals. and prove themselves to be a force in the Celtic circuit

Pumpactionpaddy: An excellent offering if your feet don't start tapping to this then you are quite clearly dead!

fROOTS magazine: w a r b l e f l y are mischievous, a kick in the pants and very welcome

Highlights include

  • appearing on the Avalon Main Stage at Glastonbury 2003
  • supporting Shane MacGowan & the Popes
  • St Patricks week house band at the Cairo Hilton (Egypt)
  • winning first prize in Leiden street music festival (Holland)

W a r b le f l y are currently working on their third album, having sold the sinful, wise and insane (2001) and crashing through the trees (2004) worldwide. w a r b l e f l y are proud to have produced these albums without record company interference.

My 3-year-old asked for Warblefly on in the car today (he's heard it a fair few times recently). He normally asks for his Nursery Rhymes CD. Don't know if that's good or bad....

Hi guys - how was Silfest last night? Ah, Silwood Park...happy memories!!

I wondered if you'd fancy a visit to Chippenham next year? I just sent a recommendation about you to the folk festival organisers. If you fancy it, let me know and I'll keep on at them about you.

    All the beast, Matt

and we launch the EP at Cypress Avenue, cork on Sunday 15 April at 9pm

it'd be great to see ya. us, a great band called Random Friend Selecter

    Ahoy !!

Diggin' your works and a-hay, a-ho, I wanna get hold of some !!

Now, as for having a jar with yez ... so, are you interested in coming to Australia ?? If you are, it would be worthwhile talking to Keeno from THE GO SET and Greg from THE CURRENCY, among others (both those two are on our title page). Likewise, we'd be up for all and any plundering you had in mind ...

Have a Fuller's London Pride for me and give my regards to Soho, Brighton Fun Pier and especially dear ol' Hampshire ...
