Members of Warboys include: Steve Hawley-Bass and Vocals, Corey Hagstrom-Vocals, Mike Dejanaro-Guitar and Vocals, Joe Kuzma-Hand Purcussion, Paul Mattle-Drums and Vocals.
Influences
Many influences: Tool, Primus, Neck Beard, Pink Floyd, System of a Down, Rush, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, Noah Gokey, King Crimson, Pantera, Clutch, Fugazi, Yes, Steely Dan, Jesus, Gil from the Simpsons, and many others. Anything that is talented and not meant for selling albums to 13 year olds has probably had some influence on all of us.
Sounds Like
SWAMP ROCK:We have our own distinct sound but we've been compared to many bands such as: Primus, System of a Down, Clutch, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Tool, and I believe we were once compared to Hilary Duff (the man was high on paint thinner). So take all those bands, mix them together add Byron and you have Warboys.
Warboys was created in the summer of 2005 and ended in the winter of 2006. The band began as Neck Beard in 1999 consisting of Steve and Paul, and adding Joe Kuzma in 2001. With many changes in guitar players over the years we came upon Mike D, whome we had known from his prior band Latemy Druts. We changed the name were known as the legendary WARBOYS. We named the band after Warboys Rd in Byron, which four out of the five band members lived on.
Corey was added into the band in the spring of 2006 as lead vocalist taking much of the strain of playing crazy bass, and singing off of Steve. We played mostly originals but have numerous covers including: Primus, Zappa, System of a Down, Clutch, Fugazi, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd and Allman Brothers. On October 23rd and 24th we went to Saxon Recording Studio in Rochester to record a demo and walked out with nine songs.
