Influences
I have had many influences too many to list, but my biggest inspiration/influence has to be my great uncle Carlos. Born in 1917 he traveled the country in his teens by means of boxcar, hitchhiking, or even walking with nothing but a songbook and a guitar and what little money he could scrape from playing in bars or what little work he could find. With all that of the great depression working against him still managed to make it onto the radio by 1937, but it didn’t pay much. He served in WW2 and has traveled the world and at the age of 92 can still play guitar better than most people who play for a living "(really)"! He also plays banjo, mandolin, dobro or pretty much anything you can think of! To this day he has copyrighted over 50 songs; some have been recorded by various artists. All that aside, I believe that he may be the kindest most honest man I have ever met and I’m proud just to know someone like him and have the same blood running through my veins. So many people have let me down or turned out to be fake, he never has. He is the real deal!~
