LAST GANG IN TOWN proudly presents….

THE GRIT - One of the UK’s best punk rock’n’roll bands are returning to the Moon to serve up another helping of musical mayhem. The Grit’s in-yer-face hard edged rock’n’roll has secured them slots at Speedfreaks Ball, Rebellion/Wasted, Reading/Leeds and Glastonbury festivals. Although heavily influenced by The Stray Cats, Rancid and The Clash, The Grit come out punching with a unique and driven sound that is bound to have you all shouting for more and demanding they return to Cambridge yet again!
www.myspace.com/thegrit

ICH - ICH are arguably the finest punk band to come out of East Anglia. Their influences are too numerous to mention (but Crass and Rancid are definitely in there) and mere words can’t describe their live performances. ICH have been known to blow ageing punk bands off the stage and even incited stage diving at their unplugged gigs. At Strawberry fair 2007 they even made hippies look happy! With sharply observed lyrics and a barrage of guitars ICH’s punk anthems will have you punching the air and shouting along ‘til the cider runs out.

LAST GANG IN TOWN & AL PUNX proudly presents….

LAY OUT THE TRAPS - Since 2005 Lay Out The Traps have been tearing up the rule book and re-writing it punk style whilst playing all over London and grabbing fistfuls of new fans at every show. Fusing furious guitars with passionate lyrics and even the odd ska rhythm, their energy and ethics make them true underground heroes, and they’re doing it on their own terms.

THE SMOKING HEARTS - Dirty energetic punk rock’n’roll from this Bedford band who started with "the aim of becoming a Motley Crue for the 21st century" but ended up sounding like Black Flag meets The Misfits meets The Bronx.

3 CHORD CRAIG - A rare solo acoustic set of drinking and protest songs from Moral Dilemma’s front man.

LAST GANG IN TOWN presents….

THE QUAKES - American psychobilly legends since the 80’s, The Quakes were one of the very first American psychobilly bands and remain an incredible influence on the American psychobilly scene. In 2006 The Quakes celebrated their 20 year anniversary and did a 34 show tour of the USA and then 23 more shows all across Europe and Russia. Although this is the first UK tour for nearly 15 years, The Quakes are no strangers to these shores having played the legendary Klubfoot back in 1988, and even selling-up and moving to London for a while. Their amazing psychobilly and rockabilly sound has earned them legions of fans on both sides of the Atlantic, and this is a rare chance to see such a legendary outfit in an intimate venue.
www.myspace.com/thequakes

HENRY & THE BLEEDERS - Formed in 2004 Henry & The Bleeders combine vintage rockabilly with the hard and modern edge of punk rock and also add a little hillbilly and traditional R&B to the mix to result in a sound very much for today. Don’t miss these rockin’ tunes from one of the best young bands on the scene.

Jul 10 2007 10:41 AM

Well dudes, this is it for us: It's been a long and bloody struggle.

We've spent all our money on it, but our new single SZIGET is finally out this week.

AND IT'S BEING PLAYED ON THE HUW STEPHENS SHOW ON BBC RADIO 1 THIS WEDNESDAY

We've already sold out of CD copies (2000) with pre-sales and we're in with a chance of a decent chart position.

We've had some great reviews so far – with more to come in Q and Mojo:

'The year’s best kept indie secret is here.'
- Word Magazine
'Hamfatter are as refreshing as a lemon sorbet in the kalahari desert.'
- Hi Fi News

So, please, if you have a spare 2 minutes and 79p, go to

www.napster.co.uk
or www.itunes.com

and buy SZIGET by HAMFATTER

Preview it at

www.hamfatter.net

IT HAS TO BE THIS WEEK GUYS. WE WILL NEVER MANAGE TO SELL ENOUGH TO CHART 2 WEEKS IN A ROW.
So please do it as soon as you can.

PLEASE TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO CHECK IT OUT

Many thanks for your support.
Aidy

Mar 22 2007 11:17 AM

hey Steve and co. I picked up a CD by a Canterbury based band called Spirogyra (the pronunciation of which is still a mystery to me!), and spent ages thinking "who does this sound like??" then I suddenly realised “hey, it's Warmed Up Cold!”
Just wondering if you've heard and been influenced by them or it's just a marvellous coincidence! I'll bosh you out a CD copy sometime, for now here’s the back of the CDs description:
"SPIROGYRA fronted by singer songwriter Martin Cockerham and featuring the mellifuous voice of Barbara Gaskin, recorded three of the rarest, most collectable Acid-Folk albums of all time: St. Radigunds (1971), Old Boot Wine (1972), and Bells, Boots & Shambles (1973). This compilation includes all three LPs, plus an even rarer contemporaneous A-side and a quartet of previously- unrealised album outtakes"
I’d never heard of them, but bought it on that little ditty on the back! Certainly is interesting stuff…
See you round ol’ Cambridge town sometime!

The Loft

Jul 6 2006 1:40 PM

Even if you leave this comment on your page for a few days we will draw massive attention to this!
The Loft venue in Cambridge may lose it's independence, turning it into another corporate chain venue.
A team of volunteers have worked tirelessly for 6months building the reputation of this venue, only for a large music chain to want to take it over.
This represents everything bad that is happening in the music industry today, one that obviously seeks money over music. One that rarely invests in new music and diversity.
We can't fight this alone, we're trying to show the strength of feeling against this take over and raise awareness of the DIY music culture which is thriving.
Help us!
Even if you've never been to the Loft but know of a similar venue in your own town and city that is independently run welcoming any band or artist regardless of their audience size!
Please read our petition, if you agree and would like to add your support then please sign and leave a comment. We need help from all you artists who believe music should be kept out of the hands of the large corporations!
For anyone else who loves discovering new music.
