Warm Wednesdays was established over 10 years ago by a group of men who recognized the immense talent in Baltimore City. Warm Wednesdays has showcased both seasoned professionals and open-mic "virgins" by providing a nurturing atmosphere for some of Baltimore's best. The venue began with only 6 audience members. It has grown to become the largest and longest running weekly open-mic venue in Baltimore. Its original hosts, Walter Maxfield Jones and The Bassman worked to create a welcoming atmosphere that would afford local and visiting artists the opportunity to "speak." Many of Baltimore's greats have had defining moments on the Warm Wednesdays' stage. We have been fortunate to have featured many established artists such as Talaam Acey, Lamar Hill, Queen Sheeba, Archie the Messenger, Raheim DeVaughn, Bilal Salaam, and The 5thL. In Spring 2005, The Bassman so graciously "passed the mic" to a member of the Warm Wednesdays family, Rebecca Dupas who after 3 years went on to start her own venue in 2008. Today, Walter Maxfield Jones host Warm Wednesdays as it continues to provide a proving ground and a haven for up-and-coming artists. Warm "Wednesdays is all about love." Join us every Wednesday at 830 Guilford Avenue in Baltimore Md. See the flyer for contact information.
One of the venue's unique features is the Warm Wednesdays' afterparty, hosted by DJ Franchise, DJ Harvey Dent and Baltimore's own djlilmic. For 10 years, we've been "pushing back the tables and chairs" after the open-mic portion of the evening to rock to the sounds of our in-house DJs. OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW...SHOVEL...CAUSE BRAND NEW COLD BrrrrrBLOODED BULLSHHHHUKAS IS SOON TO BE UPON US.....BELIEVE WISDOM THAT 1! As my peoples taught me "IT AIN'T NOTHING BUT CHEWED UP GRASS CUZIN..." A little Black girl (UNCLASSIFIED) A stranger was seated next to a little black girl on the airplane when the stranger turned to her and said, "Let's talk. I've heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger." The little girl, who had just opened her coloring book, closed it slowly and said to the stranger, "What would you like to talk about?" "Oh, I don't know," said the stranger. "Since you are a black, do you think that So-called President Elect Barak Obama is qualified for the job?" and he smiles. "OK", she said. 'That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff -grass -. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?" The stranger, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, "Hmmm, I have no idea." To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss President Barak Obama... when you don't know shit?"

Hi There! Thanks so much for the add and welcome to my world! I have many many friends as you can see, but you are more than just a number to me, so please take a moment to stop by and read the bio and new friend messages in my blog section. I also have a second music profile where you can hear more of the songs from my debut album Love and Light Volume One, and if you're a die-hard fan, then you'll want to hook up with the BFFC as well. Both my second profile and the fan club are in my top friends list. Now don't be a stranger! I'm looking forward to connecting!!! Love and Light, Brig Feltus
