War of Destruction was formed in the summer of 1981 in Århus, Denmark.
Gigs where played all over Denmark, and at a punk festival in Husum, Germany in 82.
In 83 we recorded 7 tracks for a 7" EP, and subsequently released it on our own label “Spån Records”.
83 to 84 became a very busy period, again we toured all of Denmark, including a gig at a psychiatric hospital, and also did a small tour in Germany.
In the years to follow War of Destruction formed a unique sound and became the absolute leading hardcore band in Denmark at that time.
Steen left the band in 86 and was replaced by Dimse on the drums, making W. of D. one of the fastest acts around.
We spend the next 2-3 years as a band in the rehearsal room making weird “trash” noise, playing only around 15 gigs with this lineup.
In the eighties we did around 150 gigs, playing with bands like: GBH, Destructors, Birthday Party, Frites Modern, Rattus, Raw Power, Nomeansno and danish bands like the Razor Blades, City X, Electric Deads etc.
In the summer of 1988 we went on a holiday for 15 years. We first played together again in 2003 and have continued to do so up until now.
