Call them what you will – glam metal, heavy metal pop, Sunset Strip lighter-raising stadium balladry… in the end, Warrant is a rock band. Exploding out of Los Angeles in 1984, the legendary group features Jani Lane on vocals, Joey Allen and Erik Turner on guitars, Jerry Dixon on bass and Steven Sweet on drums. On their chart-topping 1989 debut, Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich, the band offered an audacious and meaty collection of catchy metal riffs, including rock anthems like “Down Boys” and the chart-topping ballads “Sometimes She Cries” and “Heaven.” Warrant supported the album’s release with a colossal world tour, and followed up by releasing Cherry Pie in 1990. The album was an instant hit, and with its power-packed emotion and in-your-face trashy fun (featuring such Top 10 hits as “I Saw Red” and “Cherry Pie”,) the fanbase grew even larger. 2008 brings the return of the band’s original members for the first time in almost fifteen years, and with such a reunion will show fans just what it means to rock.
