About me:
Oi oi, I'm Roach (real name Mike, known online on various forums/games as Autarkis). I'm 24 and I have a degree in Music Industry Management from Buckinghamshire Chilterns Unerveristy College (BCUC). I'm hoping to go and work promoting for a big rock club or something like that but have to see how things pan out I guess.
Music really is my life, and I don't mean that in the way 14 year old Marilyn Manson fans who just listen to cds say it. I run a small promotions company called Harbinger Promotions (www.myspace.com/harbingerpromotes) and am currently working, with my business partner Stitches, on setting up RnR Promotions, its gonna be Fucking Rock And Roll Baby!.
However, I don't accept random adds from bands. If your in a band and want me to give you a gig then add the Harbinger Promotions page. If your one of my friends who has a band that I dont have added, then tell me about it and I'll add you myself.
I'm also a guitarist and vocalist and have been playing since I was 17 (although my singing isn't very good!). I'm currently bandless but my previous bands include vetern punk rockers The Adulescents UK, Pumping Vegas, Mountin' Mary and Roach And The Kitten Stranglers.
I'm a full-time barman for my sins, although its in a posh-ish hotel so at least I don't have to deal with as many idiots. I'm hoping to get out of that and into work that I acutally want to do some time soon though.
I'm a practicing Pagan and have been since the age of 16. The path I follow is a mix of achient Egyptian, Native American Shamanism and a few other little bits that i just find seem to work. My main totem is Wolf, although I work with others as well.
I'm a big fan of Role Playing Games (Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse being the main 2 I play) and other such geeky persuits, and am officially obsessed with Star Wars. I'm also into LARP (Live Action Roleplaying) and attend the Lorien Trust's events. For those of you that know of the system, I'm with the Vipers and I play the character of Dace Romark, Host to the soul of Diego Starfire, leader of the Holy Brotherhood of Steel and High Priest of the Lords of Metal
Favourite TV programs include Red Dwarf (did anyone else not like series 7 and 8?), Monty Python's Flying Circus, Fairly Odd Parents (yes I know its a kids show, but it has me in stitches every time ), Family Guy, The Simpsons, The Young Ones, Dog The Bounty Hunter, Bottom, Black Adder, Dad's Army, Are You Being Served? 'Ello 'Ello, The A-Team, Stargate SG1 etc.
Let it be known that i hate Emo with a passion. The music itself is ok, just not to my tastes. What I REALLY DISPISE is the Emo Kids who think its cool to be depressed all the time, and have all these little 'arty' animations on their profile of people cutting themselves with words like 'let...me...bleed' on them.
