War Within, based in Nashville, Tennessee, formed in the summer of 2005 after guitarist Greg Messick’s previous band Intruder (Metal Blade Records) disbanded. After a feverish search for other like minded musicians, the right chemistry was aligned with the addition of drummer Justin Ward, vocalist Mike Smith, and bassist Chris Veach. Already with a buzz around town about the band’s formation the band immediately jumped into touring and writing for their first full length album.
The self-titled debut was recorded in Nashville at Tombstone Studio, produced and engineered by Kyle Mann (Chevelle), and mastered by James Murphy of the band Death. Shortly after the release of their debut album War Within has achieved regional success opening for acts such as: Static-X, Nonpoint, Dope, OTEP, Invitro, Bleed the Sky, Daath, Trivium, Destroy Destroy Destroy, and Diecast.
Currently War Within is writing their sophomore effort and planning to record the album at the end of 2009. And as any band does, continue to play live shows and force their music down the throats of those in attendance, and some not in attendance
