JOHAN VAN GELDER (Saxophonist/Vocalist/Songwriter)
Is a most versatile performer, accustomed to playing an extensive repertoire that ranges from skilled improvised music to Calypsos, Bossa Novas and Jazz standards. Johan studied jazz sax and vocals in Amsterdam and in Brisbane, and is a native of Holland. He plays as a solo artist as well as in a multitude of duo and trio combinations. 'The Johan van Gelder Ensemble' has played on various international stages and makes regular appearances on the Gold Coast.

NATALIE RICHY (Percussionist/Vocalist/Songwriter)
Has trained extensively in African and Latin Percussion music in Australia and overseas and last year made her second intensive study tour in Cuba. Her musical style ranges from the Folkloric traditions to contemporary Funk fusion and Jazz. She was a co-founder of rhythm ensemble, 'Zabahtu', which gained a lot of exposure on the festival circuit and produced the 'Dance Dreaming' album. Kit has been performing, on various instruments, around the planet, for the past 30 years. Noteable musical associates include aussie 70's icon, Brian Cadd, Jeremy Allsop (Men At Work), Barry Sullivan ( Renee Geyer, Farnham ), Miguel Fuentes (Grover Washington Jnr) and Lee Thornberg ( Tower Of Power ). A spicy brew of contemporary upbeat Funk/Jazz music blended with Afro/Latin groove and rich harmonic vocals. With the lineup of some of the Sunshine Coast hinterlands hottest musicians and songwriting team, the Wasabi show presents a deluxe mix of original music that is soulful and highly danceable.
Wasabi play as a trio (vocals, guitar, saxophone, percussion) and up to a 5 piece band with added bass, keyboard and drums for bigger events.
