What is: Wasps Verses Humans?
The real war on terror, Wasps Verses Humans. They never give up do they? The bastards, no surrender for a wasp. If you leave them alone, they’ll sting you, if you try and swat them away, they’ll bring their mate round and kick your ass. An army of the buggers. It’ll be like Planet of the Apes all over again. Mark my words!
Wasps V’s Humans is a one person project featuring only Carl Antony Plover, combining performance poetry with sound effects; could be the radio, TV, throwing toys around the room, percussion, or guitar. Snap shots of life, recorded, washing up, baby crying, phone ringing. Political and humorous lyrics that look out at the world with a growl and a smile, avoiding the “my girlfriend left me and no one understands” lyrics.

Originally from Lincoln, UK and currently living in Cork, Ireland.
Written four plays for the theatre ‘Harry’s Pleasure’, ‘Shaking Hands’, ‘Like’, ‘Opera’, all produced, with ‘Like’ going on tour nationally and taking in the Brighton International Arts Festival.
Co founded Production Company Burning Paper Productions, producing a body of work to include a ten minute short film ‘Oh Minnie’, which I wrote and starring Linda Lusardi. Also wrote and produced comedy trailer called ‘Nearly Men’ with characters played by Melvyn Hayes, Anna Brecon & Boothby Graffoe.
Musically, released an L.P and Single with 4,000,000 Telephones, (recently reformed), with a tour in Germany, which gained interest from national UK press and radio, including John Peel. Other less successful bands included, Monkeys with Clothes On, Monkey Brothers and Carl Doris Experience.
Recently released a single with Chunky Planet ‘Pensioners Watch TV’ (Ireland only) receiving extensive radio play and national press exposure and chosen as Hot Press magazine’s pick of the fortnight… Oh stop it…
