Wasted are a 5-piece rock band based in Greater Manchester. We find that many different bands influence us, and this in turn has a direct impact on the music we create. It has been said (believe it or not) that the contents of our ipods resemble your average sock draw. A bit of everything that doesn’t quite seem to match up, but it makes perfect sense to us! As our own songs are borne from our passion of diversity in music, it has to be said that the roots of our musical foundations lie firmly in rock.
Of all the procedures you go through when being in a band, it’s unanimous amongst the Wasted collective that the best part is playing live. We’ve managed to make a name for ourselves on the live music circuit by playing regular gigs all over the North West, including venues in Manchester, Tameside and Stockport. We have also played some biker events, including the annual Tameside SMC Rock Night and The Rising Moon Rally. High energy, pure passion and the occasional tendency for a bit of cheeky improv, ensure for an entertaining evening, courtesy of Wasted.
We have a mini army of original songs that show the raw talent on offer. From thumping bass lines to sweeping guitar solos, crunching riffs to face-melting beats, each “Waster” adds their own unique skills and tastes to every track. Finished off with a front-woman with a unique and powerful voice making Wasted stand out from the crowd. Imagine Guns N Roses fronted by Bonnie Tyler. Scary!
A brief Wasted history –
The original line-up consisted Of Tom Carroll (Ginge) on Vocals, Adam Luckman on Lead Guitar, Ben Harrison on Rhythm Guitar, Benji Dixon on Bass, and Chris Harrison on Drums. Ginge left to pursue other ambitions, as Lead Guitarist for his college band and Chris left after he realised he didn't want the same as the rest of the band.
However, within a week we had a new Drummer (but an old face all round), in the shape of Lil' Dave. His skill and general attitude brought us all closer together as a band and everyone's playing improved immensely as a result. After then realising that none of the band could actually sing, we recruited Jo on Lead Vocals and that's when things started falling into place.
It was then that we donned ourselves Wasted and we had formed the first gigging line up of the band. After a few gigs, Lil' Dave decided the band wasn't a priority and left to further his education at university. Needless to say he left the band in a sticky situation with gigs booked and no drummer.
Within two weeks however and just before the next gig, Simon was recruited to fill the whole Dave had left, and Wasted was back in action and ready to go. Simon bringing his own unique style and energy to the band
Simon was with us for just over a year, after which he decided it was the time to leave and go in a different direction with his music, he did however stay gigging with us until we found a suitable replacement.
After auditioning a few drummers, we can across Steve Day, whose talent and music style fitted us perfectly, within just 2 weeks of meeting him he was ready for his first gig with us which went down a storm.

"At 11pm on came a band who have played for me before – WASTED – such a lovely bunch of people. They have only been together for a matter of months and it does not show! They play well together, a team, if you will. They're tight, organised and above all extremely entertaining! They played nearly a 2 hour set with not 1, but 2 encores – the Thatched crowd absolutely loved them. At the end there was even a "WASTED" chant! Totally well played people! Thank you for being there. Hope we will be working together again very soon!"
