Waste Deep is a funky five to eight member ensemble from Aspen, Colorado and the Roaring Fork Valley playing originals and covering tunes by artists such as Galactic, the Greyboy Allstars, Maceo Parker, John Scofield, the Brecker Brothers, Grant Green and many more. The current lineup came together in 2007 and have played bars, restaurants, nightclubs, concert venues, private parties and festivals. The four-piece horn section is anchored by the multi-instrumentalist funkster known as "Payntar" (Baritone Sax, Keys), and he is joined by the smooth Craig Heydenberk (Trombone), the jazzy Dave Poulsen (Trumpet) and the talented Jeff "Jeffro" Herring (Tenor Sax, Percussion). Holding down the rhythm section is Vidi, also known as the "Iceman" (Bass), Ben Genshaft (Guitar) and the funky smooth Chris "G-Unit" Goplerud (Drums). Waste Deep's mission and purpose is to create a funk dance party at every gig they play.
The 1st ROUND of the PROGRESSION Battle of the Bands is coming to a close. The best bands of the 1st Round are playing the Semi Finals for a spot on our upcoming 2 Compilation CD’s. The Semi Finals are on July 13th, 20th & 27th with the $10,000 Finals shortly after!!!
Come be a part of the 1st round with the remaining shows on every Sunday in June. Tickets are good for both stages in this unique event @ Cervantes Ballroom & Quixotes True Blue.
