| About Waste King |
|
Waste King has been in existance in one form or another since 1986.the vast majority of songwriting is the work of Woody Pistrich.
Assorted recordings and releases have been around since 1989 when the 8-song Classic "Arbitrary and Capricious" was produced. Much time has passed since the original lineup of Woody Pistrich, Jason Hadley , and Julie Perron has dispersed. After a period of working with other bands such as Puddy Wad and Harshmallow , Woody wrote and recorded "In A Box". , This album was released in 2002. "IN A BOX" was concieved as an accoustic album with all tunes played on accoustic guitar rather than Waste King's normal more rocking electric format , but that does not make it any lame folk album to say the least. [The previous myspace site played "In a Box" songs.]
Waste King was totally psyched to announce that its next album "Outta The Box" had finally been released as of April 2006. After 2 years of talk, the tracks were finally laid down. It is a return to Waste King's rocking electric roots.12 new tunes featuring Amy Sullivan and Eddie Riel on Drums. " Outta the Box " . If you want to hear more from "Out of the Box" check out Waste King's site on Soundclick. There are more tunes posted than you can on My Space.
The most recent Waste King album is "Necessary Evil" It features 3 guest drummers , Joel Dundorf being the 'new guy' in addition to Eddie Riel and Amy Sullivan. It was also recorded at the New Woodrose Ballroom . Furthermore , it was mixed at Cloud Cookooland in Northampton which added some cool studio effects. This album features a lot of tracks from my vintage Roland Juno 106 synth. this album is available NOW.' Necessary Evil' just got a good review in "The Local Buzz".(see blog)
Currently a number of new tunes are in the oven and may feature more synth tracks than before because i now have 3 vintage synths to work with, The Juno 106, a Korg Polysix and also a Chroma Polaris. Each of these has been a challenge in electronic repair but I am real happy to have them all operative now. It is amazing how few instrument repair shops are competant to touch old synths. You really have to be able to do it youself.
YES, Western Mass still rocks and I really do want to hear your comments . All of Wastekings"s discs... "Arbitrary and Capricious"(1989), "In a Box" ( 2002), "Outta the Box" (2006) And ,of course, "Necessary Evil" (2007) are available . Contact this site 's message box and ask for details. And DO LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS>>>>
