W.A.S.T.E.L.A.N.D.S. stands Wisdom Activates Serenity Throughout Entities Living Allah's Nurturing Divine Science...it came to me in a dream, crazy right?? We reside in the ChiMil Triangle, you figure it out...we have been destroying mics since 2000. The group started out with myself and Augury, we put out a single called "Intensity" it did ok. Then Augury brought this dude Taiyamo Denku (tie-yahmoe denkoo) to the studio, he freestyled some shit I didn't know what the fuck he was talking about...but i knew he was dope. So we asked him if he wanted to be in the group and shortly thereafter we started working on a album in 2001 called "Seasons Change". We thought it was good, but it wasn't. To this day we can only listen to a handful of songs on it. We went through the local battle scene and show circuit for about a year and half while we worked on our next shit. In 2003, we dropped Rules Of Evolution.
Some local magazines said it was the best album to come out of the Chicago underground in five years...we were on some other shit, we consider this our debut. 2004 was an important year for us for two reasons: it marked the beginning of our creative relationship with Nasa and was the start of national exposure with a compilation called: Guests Of Honor.
It featured, some artists that we admired, respected and wanted to work with at the time: Immortal Technique, Psalm One, Freestyle and many others. It's still our biggest success to this day. In 2005, we dropped Rise Of An Empire, it's killer, a b-boy manifesto...listen to it. I had a lot of fun making this album, it solidified our creative relationship with Nasa, as well as opening doors with other artists that we admired greatly.
Rise Of An Empire featured some of my favorite songs, Transformation, Shelter featuring Def Jux and Atoms Family members, Hangar 18, Sprinkle Of God with Deacon The Villain and the sometimes misunderstood Waste Of Space. Which brings us to what I honestly thought was going to be our last stand as a collective: After Years Of Television. But, after numerous discussions with Nasa and my W.A.S.T.E.L.A.N.D.S. brethren, we decided we wouldn't and couldn't quit after putting together our best body of work.
Which brings me to our Uncommon Records debut, a more mature, focused project. It took us 3 years to finish this album. A lot of factors came into play during the creative process: our individual growth as people, marriage, growing families, the urge to something different outside our comfort zones and yes, the occasional creative differences on where the album should have went. We brought along a lot friends for this one: Keith Murray, Masai Bey, Super Ego, Urban Legend, Rheotaxis, Dave Derrilykt, Domingo, JestOne, Cryptic One and of course Nasa.
And did I mention that in between all the chaos of life, being in a group and just being held down by whitey, me and Denku have found other creative outlets. In 2007, Denku released Dark Journal Of Thornwords. It features: Chino XL, Keith Murray, Freestyle, W.A.S.T.E.L.A.N.D.S. and many more... I also signed as a solo artist to Uncommon Records, contributing to a few singles. My solo album is slated for release this summer. I hope you have enjoyed our music...if you haven't then you are stupid and need to shoot yourself in face. Peace, Love and Middle Fingers, Short Fuze

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD: John3:16-21 16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. 18 “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. 19 And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. 20 All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. 21 But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.[a]
CHRIST PUNISHED 4US-Rom:3:21-30 21 But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses[a] and the prophets long ago. 22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. 23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. 27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. 28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law. 29 After all, is God the God of the Jews only? Isn’t he also the God of the Gentiles? Of course he is. 30 There is only one God, and he makes people right with himself only by faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles.[b]
YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN: John3:1-15. 1 There was a man named Nicodemus, a Jewish religious leader who was a Pharisee. 2 After dark one evening, he came to speak with Jesus. “Rabbi,” he said, “we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you.” 3 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again,[a] you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” 4 “What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?” 5 Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.[b] 6 Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.[c] 7 So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You[d] must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.” 9 “How are these things possible?” Nicodemus asked. 10 Jesus replied, “You are a respected Jewish teacher, and yet you don’t understand these things? 11 I assure you, we tell you what we know and have seen, and yet you won’t believe our testimony. 12 But if you don’t believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone to heaven and returned. But the Son of Man[e] has come down from heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.
"For you, O God, tested us; you refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance." Psalm 66:10-12 (NIV)
This school year, my husband and I made some big changes in our house. We took the kids' computer out of the bonus room and gave them use of our two laptop computers in our presence only. We took the extra TV out of the bonus room. We got rid of all the extra channels on our satellite service, leaving the basic few. And we began requiring that our two children who have cell phones turn them in for the night at 8pm.
Why did we implement these seemingly harsh decisions? Because last school year our children made some bad choices… and their grades reflected it. They chose to watch TV in the bonus room instead of going to bed at a decent hour. They chose to play on the computer when they were supposed to be working on assignments. They chose to text their friends instead of focus on their schoolwork.
After repeated lectures and warnings, they still made the same mistakes. This pattern of behavior left us no choice but to come in and remove the things that were a stumbling block. The kids didn't like our decision and to them it seemed unfair. But we stood firm. We knew that we were doing the right thing for our children. We could see a future they could not, and we had to protect that future for them—even if they didn't understand our method for doing so. As their parents, we have to do whatever it takes.
Sometimes God has to do the same for us. At the time His plan may seem harsh and unnecessary. We may not realize that He can see a future we cannot. We are His children, and He will remove all stumbling blocks that keep us from being all that we can be. Even if it hurts. Even when we cry and beg Him not to. Even when we pout and tell Him it's not fair.
It's because I love you, He tells us, that I do this. I am creating something beautiful in you if you will just stop fighting me. I have a place I am trying to get you to. You can't see it, my precious child, but I can.
Is there something God is doing in your life that feels unjust? That has you pouting or crying or wondering why? Maybe you identify with the verses from today. You feel imprisoned, burdened, trampled, burned. Do you trust Him to bring you out of the place where you are to a place of abundance? The most beautiful prayer we can pray is: I trust You, I trust You, I trust You. He is a loving Father who only wants the best for us and He will do whatever it takes to get us there. Instead of fighting Him, let's rest in that Truth.
Dear Lord, I trust You. I trust You. I trust You. In Jesus' Name, Amen
