Ai Watanabe was born in Japan.
She began studying music composition at the age of 12. Ai greduated Tokyo College of Music in a master's program and her Orchestra piece was chosen on graduation-concert. In 2004, she was enrolled in a class at the summer school produced by MOTUS(from INA/GRM) in Paris, studied music acousmatic with Denis Dufour. In 2005&2006 she went to Crest in France and performed on FUTURA ; the electromusic-festival. In 2006 one of her piece was performed at ACANTHES summer music festival. Awards : In 2003 “illvibbon” received the President's Award of the Tokyo Collage of Music. In 2005&2006 JILA competition (Japan International League of Artists) on the final selected, In 2005 CCMC(the Contemporary Computer Music Competition in Japan). She also composes for dances and movies. It's important works to Ai too.
