No deposits required in advance, unless more than a week is booked. Payment is due at the end of the day unless a label is taking care of the invoice or prior arrangements have been made.
Who I'd like to meet: All kinds of bands...playing all kinds of music
STUDIO TIPS:
1. Practice, practice, practice. This can save time and money in the studio.
2. Fresh drum heads are a plus.
3. New strings for guitars and bass a must. If you can get your guitar set up prior to recording, this is a plus.
4. Use your equipment or ours - it's your choice. We have all kinds of equipment available but if your unique sound comes from your gear, have it in good working order and we will mic it up.
5. How much material? How much time? This is the hardest and most confusing thing to determine in any recording situation. Everyone works at their own pace, the band and the engineer should be flexible - this can be discussed before or during the session.
For example; One song in an 8 hour day is pretty standard. But this is often dependent on genre.
Time tip; If you're trying to shop a recording for a big deal, do not attempt too much material. If you're just tracking for demos you can do as much as you like. Time = Quality.
6. Please think carefully about inviting friends, fans, or roadies, additional people in the studio are distracting for the band and the engineer. Their presence rarely contributes anything helpful.

Our bassist quit when we had a lineup of shows. Unfortunately, we did have to cancel our previous engagements.
We need someone who is going to be able to TOUR!!! We are about to be under a management contract and it is very important that anyone who tries out for us understands the weight of these priorities.
IMPALEMENT is going past the local level and transitioning to the regional level, and we need YOU!
We have a good amount of music complete, and you will sorta just be slipping into an existing situation, should be a fairly smooth transition. The majority of what we do is our own music. Once in a great while we slip in a cover, but just for fun.
We are very serious about our goals in the music business! Going for the big time is something we plan to do NOW!

It's no secret that Keith of 137 beats his bass regularly (cue the Beavis & Butthead laughter). But when 137 played for Mistress Julyia in Buffalo, NY the long-lived bass went out in a blaze of glory. Thank you to those who stuck around for the whole show. And to those who leave early, this is the kind of shit you miss out on! Here's the aftermath....
Doug there's a new project coming out that has Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl, and John Paul Jones called The Crooked Vultures. They've only released a teaser clip so far, but the production sounds very old school. There's that John Bonham drum sound, and the guitar and bass tone captures the spirit as well. I can't wait to hear this record from a production standpoint as well as musically.
