About me:

Click here to sponsor us or to see our real-time online donation tracker and check out who's already donated and how much!

Hello and thank you for visiting our fund-raising myspace page. We'd really appreciate your support in something we feel very strongly about. We hope that our friends, family and community will unite and help us reach our goal through this Walk-a-thon. As of now the date for The Walk-a-thon will take place on April 29th 2006 in Ramona. With the funds raised we will be giving a clean water well through the amazing charity world vision(est. 1950), in which water is the source life for a desperate community in Africa.

Water is the root of the problem...lets start there. Half the world's hospital beds are occupied by patients with waterborne diseases and African women and girls spend an average of three hours per day fetching unclean water from rivers and streams that could potentialy kill them. We encourage you to take a step back from this priviledged American lifestyle for a moment and focus on those lives that will soon be over without our immediate help. Just think about it, if we don't help, who will? Donating through this website is simple, safe and totally secure and is the most effective way to sponsor us. Won't you sponsor us now? A donation of absolutely ANY amount makes a difference!

Many thanks for your support,
Ramona Bible Study

Hi Everyone!

So it has been a lot harder to get $3.70 from friends and family than we anticipated. We have decided to break out the big guns to hopefully find people who will give $3.70. We would love it you would like to join us in our walk or our other oddball ideas.

At 6:30 on Thurs, we will be getting together at our house, Weston and Marissa's, to make posters for the walk, paint coffee cans to collect money, and most importantly have a group prayer before Sat. If you would like to come just email us and we will give you directions. So if you have a chance please bring poster board, markers, paint (orange), coffee cans, whatever you think might help on Thurs.

Danielle and I also had a crazy idea about standing on the corner of Dye rd and 67, where all the Friday traffic is, with signs so that while we have a captive audience we can let them know what we are doing and possibly accept donations then. We could potentially let hundreds of people know about the wells. I know it is kind of crazy but if we had a big group of people it could be fun. If you don't want to you can just help us make signs on thurs, whatever you can do. We understand that we are most likely going to look like complete idiots but it is for a good cause so I guess it is worth it. We are thinking we will start at 3:30 or so on Friday the 28th. If you are unable to make posters with us on Thurs you can always make your own or just come and we will probably have extras. Email us to let us know if you are coming so that we can have some peace that we won't be the only idiots on Friday afternoon.

You guys I went to Yahoo.com today and on the intro page was an artical about Third Day and how they were so moved by the movie Invisible Children that they are donating half of there proceeds from every concert. It is crazy what a group of SD kids can do!

Hey Friends,

In 1992, the UN General Assembly designated March 22 as “World Water Day” to draw international attention to the critical lack of clean, safe drinking water worldwide. It is a time when we are encouraged to pause and consider the largest public health issue of our time – the global scarcity of clean water.

The facts are mind boggling. More than 1 billion people world wide – 20% of the planet’s entire human population – lack access to clean, safe drinking water. According to the United Nations, this world water crisis leads to the death of more than 4, 500 children every day and is a leading cause of poverty, disease, and social instability world wide (http://www.worldwaterday2006.org/).

Thanks,

Aaron
