Isn't the Second Annual All Alumni get together in August? I will definitely be attending the VIP party it was so much fun last year, I hope everyone can make it again this year.
I cc&p'd the message below from another site, but the info pertains to this site as well.
Ok, so I woke up in the middle of some crazy dream and it gave me a few ideas.... now here's where I need your help.
The Street Fair should be coming up in August. I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool if we could have some sort of blood drive or something like that sponsored by the "Alumni Association" durring the fair? Technically an "Alumni Association" doesn't exist, but I think it's time for one to be formed. I just think it would be a good way for the WMHS alumni to be able to give back to their community, and it's FREE. FEEDBACK on this anyone?
Second idea... what about having an "Alumni Association" group in the parade? We could have folks walk through the parade, or if someone wanted to get even more involved, we could have a float. We could pass out little strips of paper with the WMHS e-group's addresses listed. I know we have this one and the one on Yahoo, but we could have little strips of gold paper printed up with an invitation for folks to join the groups. As alumni march through the parade, they could hand the strips of paper to other alumni they recognize. Also printed could be a little invitation to join the alumni at a pre- determined destination for an "All Class Reunion" gathering... like a pot-luck Sunday afernoon at one of the parks, or something like that.
Here's my thought on the idea. I don't know if the park charges for reserving their shelters or not... hopefully not, but we could reserve a shelter, set up a concession stand with something as simple as pop and water for sale, and use the proceeds to start a "WMHS Alumni Scholarship" fund.
I know it's a busy weekend for those of you who have children involved in the area. However, I was thinking the blood drive would be a nice central location for WMHS alumni to meet / cat
