Marshall Watson returns to Highpoint Lowlife records with his second collection of affecting electronic compositions entitled Math And Other Word Problems, carelessly weaving strands of cologne style dub techo, minimal house, avant-pop and shoegaze sensibilities. The end result is a refined and rich development in the maturation of Marshall Watson's style and sound.
With his usual exquisite attention to mood and detail, Marshall Watson's follow up to his 2004 debut The Time Was Later Than He Expected, centres itself around the theme of the elegant beauty inherent in mathematics, a beauty at once cold and austere, yet capable of pristine perfection and evoking a strong emotional resonance.
Marshall is back now, living in Seattle and working full time on music after spending a year in Brooklyn. He has carved himself a respectable niche within the North West's burgeoning techno and electronic music scene, with upcoming shows at Oscillate, one of Seattle's finest forward thinking music nights, and also at this years Decibel festival, one of the largest and best electronic music festivals in the US.
