Sounds Like
Nothing you've ever heard...actually we're a mix of rock, pop, blues, jam bands and anything else we happen to hear. If you have a good description of us, we'd love to hear it.
Born in separate states, raised in separate ways, the 4 guys that form watson first united in the summer of 2005. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Jon Gotreau and songwriter/guitarist/organist/harmonica-ist Brian Weber first started collaborating musically in 2002, and immediately found a way to gel their distinct influences. With an open door philosophy for additional band members, Jon & Brian played with the likes of Chris Mitchell, Seth Foy, Jonathan Weber, and more while cutting their teeth in the local music scene. In 2004, local drummer Brian Mondl (formerly of the Rakes) permanently joined the fold adding an incredible, thunderous presence to watson. The final piece of the puzzle fell into place in the summer of 2005 when Adam Vander Poel joined the trio on bass and flushed out the sound that is now known as watson.
The guys have been rocking the Minneapolis music scene over the past year. They can been seen at the Fine Line, Station 4, and the Uptown Bar amongst other venues.
watson released their first full length album, Been Here Before, in Sept 2006. They are currently working on their newest album as you read this, and plan on releasing their sophomore endeavor in May 2008.

I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a new tune called Run Bobby Run:
Blood Root Mother will be playing at Trocaderos in Minneapolis on Friday, June 26th. I cannot stress enough how awesome this show will be. We're playing with three of the sweetest local rock bands: Claret, Niobium and Casanatra. If you haven't heard these guys, check them out immediately! Please come to this show!!
I recommend coming during happy hour for two for one drinks along with free buffet, which is delicious. We'll be hanging out at Trocs all night, so come by and chill/party with us :)
Please come out and support some great local music! Music starts at 9:30pm and we should go on around midnight. Invite your friends, pile into a car (or a party bus), and together we will make this one of the highlights of the summer :)
We appreciate that you're doing your own thing and glad that you're our friend!
I wanted to share an insight that I had recently. Blood Root Mother really believe in the power of music. Genuine music transcends all limitations and boundaries, and happens when musicians and listeners are communicating with one another on the deepest level possible. In a society overcome by an obsession with flashy images and stale radio hits, we seek to do something that shakes the foundation of the status quo. Since the dawn of human civilization, music has been about sharing humanity and truly connecting with others. So stay connected with us, and join us on our journey.
Peace, Elliot
The artistic activity does not lie in art itself as such. It penetrates into a deeper world in which all art forms flow together, and in which the harmony of soul and cosmos in the nothing has its outcome in reality. -Bruce Lee
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
I encourage all to visit the YouTube page to learn more (Show support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly circulate as widely as possible, here: http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4
