COLDFEET is based in Tokyo, Japan's largest and most intriguing city. A duo, the bandfeatures composer/vocalist LORI, the daughter of an American clinical psychologist father and Japanese harp-playing mother, and WATUSI, a founder of the legendary drum-and-bass outfit Mushroom Head who has produced and played bass on more than 100 CDs.
COLDFEET fuses playful eroticism, sensual vocals and captivating melodies with
a lush cinematic ambience, positive, provocative lyrics, and an offbeat humor anchored by the dichotomous themes of personal strength and vulnerability. The result is a unique, inventive sound that retains the appeal of pop while embracing the bite of new wave, jazz and rock.LORI and WATUSI have been influenced by an array of artists, from Devo, Massive Attack and Sade to Gershwin and Ella Fitzgerald, as well as the films of David Lynch and Sam Raimi. This diversity of media and genres is fundamental to the COLDFEET sound.
COLDFEET's popular debut single, "Pussyfoot," was quickly embraced by listeners and the music press. After a successful first tour of major markets across Japan, LORI and WATUSI set to work on the "Pussyfoot" video. Set at night in the dark, storied forests near Mt. Fuji and shot by film director Iwai Shunji's "Swallowtail" crew, the piece showcased COLDFEET's mastery of visual impact and their innate flair for distinctive, surrealistic imagery. The video enjoyed heavy rotation on Japanese music programs and was highlighted on "Party Zone," a popular show that reaches 60 million households in 41 countries under the auspices of MTV Europe.
COLDFEET's novel partnership has fast become a favorite of the Japanese media. LORI and WATUSI have been featured in more than 60 music and fashion magazines, and have done dozens of guest appearances on radio and MTV Japan. Their striking, chameleonic visuals and cinematic sound have also garnered favor with the fashion industry: COLDFEET have scored music and performed for the shows of top designers such as Christian Dior (John Galliano), OHYA! (Astro Boy) and Koshin Sato (Arrston Volaju Haute Couture).
COLDFEET's albums and maxi-singles are available on SONY Music Entertainment (Japan). Their singles have charted in the top ten in Japan, and their other work, including remixes by Francois K., Truby Trio and Smith&Mighty, has been licensed and released in both North America and Europe. They continue to be highly sought after as writers, producers, musicians, and performers in the Tokyo and national music scenes.
Since 2004, COLDFEET has released four 12-inch vinyl dance singles with their unique interpretations of new wave, disco, and funky house including Bodypop, Superthing, Mop Me Up, and Boom, Clang, Bang. Quickly becoming a club live show favorite throughout Japan, COLDFEET has been touring with FreeTEMPO, Sugiurumn, akakage, and other top DJs, and their much-awaited new album, including an upcoming dance single featuring Mondo Grosso, is set for an Autumn 2005 release.

Some comments: Carsten Rausch: The Da Trash Remix is a cool piece of percussive Techno. I will definetely play that. Dave James: Yeh I like the original trippy vocals. Galuszka: Tantrum Light offers a track that is straight up techno. The mood of the original mix is very Terminator 2 (Judgment Day) in its vocal work and sound choice. The remixes of this project ad funk, especially the Da Trash remix with it's rolling quality. Bodgan Taran: I just love the melody on Zimaleto remix of LSD Island. The Reddman: I listened all the remixes and was very impressed! I have to say I just loved the Paul Hunter remix of the LSD Island track. There was something about it that just kept the groove going for me. Moog Conspiracy (Elektrotribe / Buena Onda): I ll play Tantrum light - Da Trash remix. Marc Fuccio (Fresh DJS): Favoutite mix is Paul Hunter remix. Wicked groove of a bass line that instantly got me to my feet. Great production and construction. listen to our latest release [BWO028] CORRUPT COPS EP - GARETH 2DARK supported by Randall Jones, Mike Wall, Dean Facer, Paul Loraine, Kiko Martinez, Igor Marijuan, Tony Rodriguez, DJ Mini and many more!! The first track 'Corrupt Cops' perfectly displays Gareth 2Dark's passion for big drum arrangements, rolling, techy basslines and wonderful melodic chord structures. The second track on the EP 'Northern Lights' has a more progressive Tech House touch and with its huge synth patterns and smoothly arranged drum layers it surely shows why Gareth 2Dark is known as the label's 4am Techno head.
