Corporate, sponsor and advertiser interest in the 'festival market' is turning virtually the whole Australian circuit into the live music equivalent of the supermarket industry; homogenous production, impersonal audience sizes, outrageous ticket prices, repetitive line ups, big marketing promises and cynical green-washing abounds but congestion, discomfort and artificial customer service are the reality on the ground.

In short; too much 'branding', too much bullshit and not enough soul and depth of experience for the people!!!!

Well it with great honor and excitement that the Supersonic & Soul Highway teams presents the greatest weekend of our year and bring it all back to you….the good times music people who know what time it is!

For those who've been to the first two Weekenders you'll know what we mean – you actually FEEL good when you get home and enjoy a warm post-event fuzz and Wave Rock brand euphoria for some days after.

You can't put your finger on exactly what causes this feeling but the subtle and meaningful delivery of great music, incredible location, the spring weather, the salt pool, the positive environmental action and the connection you feel with the authentic Australian bush and the other discerning people around you might explain some of it.

This may sound over the top but we all unanimously agree and can't stress enough…this is the greatest weekend of our year! So let's hit you with the facts….

Where; Head directly inland for 3.5 hours to the edge of the desert to the town of Hyden; home of the ancient formation of Wave Rock and underneath the power and energy of the great rock itself you'll find the THE WAVE ROCK WEEKENDER.

When; Starts Saturday 27 September at midday and runs until 10am Monday morning (it's a long weekend and you can make it to Parklife

WAVE ROCK WEEKENDER: MORE FACTS OUR ENVIRONMENT POLICY Most festivals in Australia that claim 'carbon neutral' do not offset emissions for artists, suppliers and patrons travel which is actually where the bulk of emissions come from. Many also make it the patrons responsibility as an added extra to ticket price. At WAVE ROCK WEEKENDER we are one of the only festivals that include offsets in the price and we are proud of it!

It is our aim to be the best performing festival in Australia in terms of Waste Recovery and comprehensive emissions reduction and neutralization.

Our main focus initially is to minimize waste and emissions and then we seek to do our best in terms of recovery and offset.

OUR AIM Soul Highway, producers of the Wave Rock Weekender, are all about building great events for great people. Intimate, soulful, inspiring events for artists, patrons and staff that get it that we can all look forward to every year.

Sure, all of our team like to go out and strap one on a couple of times a week like the best of them when there is something interesting to do - but experiences like Wave Rock are designed to take you on an adventure that connect you properly with friends, music, cinema and like minded people in intimate and inspirational locations.

A quality blend of holiday, adventure, festival, party, pub, nature, escape and rest....ie SWEET TIMES!.

THE ARTISTS It is important to us that we program acts that understand what the Wave Rock Weekender is all about. The bands playing at Wave Rock are often doing so for less money than they would normally earn and are going out of their way to play for us.

The reason they come along is because they like the opportunity to play to discerning people in an inspirational location and they support our environmental and artistic vision.

Make sure you let them know how much you appreciate them making the effort......these are artists not pretenders. Saturday's line up starts after we open the event with the grand final telecast and is cerebral music played for you and not at you that will help you settle in to the weird and wonderful terrain around the rock.

Rock, pop, art-rock, country music and more will permeate the country air.

On Sunday we build up from Saturday's city slicker exorcism with intimate acoustic beginnings around brunch that twists and turns upwards into a diverse and interesting selection of styles to see out the weekend.
