Energetic rock n’ roll with an emphasis on hook and song structure. This New York City based quartet is: Vocalist/Lyricist Alex Mehran, Guitarist Lars Hedstrom, Bassist Sal Tarallo and Precussionist JoJo Mehran. Citing influences from legendary bands like Zeppelin, The Beatles, AC/DC, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam etc, to modern artists like Jet, The White Stripes, The Killers, Audioslave, etc… The music is truly an original soundscape which uses all the colors of these bands, yet creates its own hue.
Featuring soaring vocal melodies, memorable choruses, layered instrumental interplay and appealing lyrical prose, each member’s virtuosity has a chance to shine within the realm of each song. The ability of all four members to contribute to the song writing process, development, production and delivery is something that defines this bands impressionable style. Every song has each member’s stamp on it, making it a true alliance of artistic influence....................................................................
Their explosive live performances have graced some of New York City’s most prestigious venues, like CBGB’s, CRASH MANSION, KENNY’S CATAWAY, SNITCH, THE BITTER END, SPOTLIGHT LIVE, , LIT LOUNGE , THE R BAR, and other venues across the USA...
In 2007 the band completed and mastered a 5 song EP produced by Tommy Byrnes from the Billy Joel Band and engineered by Nick Cohen. Waves is now back in the studio writing and recording new songs to complete their album and make a music video.
