   Washington Women in Trades's Blurbs
About me:
Washington Women in Trades has been in existence since 1978, and was originally created to provide support for women working in non-traditional careers in trades such as carpentry, welding or painting. This was a time when the presence of women on construction sites was rare. Like their foremothers, the Rosie the Riveters of WWII, they were doing groundbreaking work, and there were few support systems in place to ease their way. When a group of tradeswomen recognized this need, they created WWIT. As they evolved, this loose volunteer association eventually went on to produce an annual spring-time job fair where women of all ages and ethnicities could learn about, and be inspired by the high paying, life sustaining careers available in non-traditional skilled trades construction sectors. The Job Fair is now an annual event, bringing together public and private sector employers, potential workers and students. Women in Trades also has a school outreach program and hosts annual awards banquet in the fall. Find us online also at www.wawomenintrades.com

Congratulations

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the Mommie Hammer Project.

We, as contractors, are taking a solid step towards getting early diagnosis of breast cancer
via paying for mammograms for women who cannot afford them. Mammograms either detect
the first signs of the disease, or they ease the minds of women who suspect they might have
breast cancer. Both are good things.

Here are the details:

The minimum contribution we ask is $25.00 plus $3.00 for shipping and handling. You may
contribute more if you'd like, or you may buy more than one item. Please include
your business card so we can put your information as a contributor on the Honor Roll of
thecontractorsside. com. Please contact Heather @ 818 264 9931.

You can mail the check to:
thecontractorsside. com
3508 Loma Lada Drive
Los Angeles CA 90065

Your hammer will be shipped as quickly as we can do it, but due to the terrific response, it
might take a couple of weeks.

This project will do three things:
It will make a good start on shortening the time frame of treatment for the disease
It will help women who cannot afford mammograms, get them.
It will portray contractors in a visible and positive light on a national scale.

News services are following this story because, while contractors are doing good things that
few people see, this project is so different, they have to pay attention.

All good things.

Thanks, again

Heather

PRESS RELEASE: CONTRACTORS NAIL BREAST CANCER

(Please see end of page to obtain promotional materials for this event!!)

In celebration of its first year of operation and in association with its member contractors, thecontractorsside. com, announces its "Spring Thing," by conducting an Ebay auction of "Mommie Hammers," proceeds to go to The National Association of Breast Cancer Awareness. The donations have been designated for mammograms for women who cannot afford them.

Thecontractorsside. com believes the best solution for the problem of breast cancer is early detection.

The Mommie Hammer has a pink handle so there's no mistaking to whom the hammer belongs. It is a durable, quality product that in no way resembles a bouquet of flowers, but it will remind the user every time she picks it up that the giver was thinking of her when it was bought.

Every woman needs a hammer, a high heel shoe just won't do the job of hanging a picture, pounding down staples, or prying off sticky thingys that kids get in the darnedest places.

This event, to be launched on Mother's Day, the first annual fundraiser for thecontractorsside. com, was chosen because so many members have been touched by the disease, either a mother (we all have mothers) or other family member or loved one.

thecontractorsside. com hopes the auction will begin a concerted effort to catch breast cancer in its earliest stages, thereby eliminating the tremendous costs associated with advanced breast cancer. Contractors are always looking for ways to prevent problems before they arise, so this project is a natural for them.

Contractors care, and this is just one way they can show it.

The auction will be a go by Mother's Day, and the site can be found by logging onto:

We are entering a higher form of conciseness that is bringing us all together. Stay positive and show respect and love for one another, we'll all be just fine. Follow people like a puppy dog and your dogmatic bicameral mentality is weak. You are all leaders... self leaders and you need to control your environment not the people in it. Understand these words and you will step up to the next level. Control of people is slavery and no one here is a slave! Step up and Unite!!!
