WAYA WAYA is synonym of beauty and joy, we are a lost African tribe in the center of Mexico. If we can speak of this project, the first thing we find is a great versatility of different sounds that emerge from Africa with electric influences like House and Kuduro, 2 step, dutch and fidget.
WAYA WAYA is the alternative project of Bonde Do Zombinhos, a unique project in Mexico, leaving a mark of their work in different parts of the world, with characteristic lyrics and dance funk beats with a vanguard special touch. Cani and Jenice, are working together creating a new music hybrid, focused on Kuduro, adding new sounds that make it completely different. Being this a fresh project with one year of work, but recently presenting in live have had an excellent acceptation in their appearances. The presentations are totally in live, sequences, voice, melodies and performance that make the show more dynamic and unique. WAYA WAYA is a Project of musical rescue, roots and culture that wants to deliver an audiovisual message. In the year 2010 they will go to other countries to promote their work, playing in USA and Europe. They are also working on some singles and an EP that are reserving for a record label. Waya Waya (Bonde do Zombinhos) won the remix contest Ze Bula by Akwaaba & Mad Decent in October 2009. The Live act has been presented in cities like: MONTERREY, GUADALAJARA, PUERTO VALLARTA, ZACATECAS, LEON, QUERETARO, and others.
