Waycross is the distinct vocal and instrumental blend of Ted Moxley and Ben Stennis. ....Ted Moxley was born and raised in Oklahoma City, OK, where he drew much of his early musical influence from artists such as Don Williams, Tom T. Hall, and The Highway Men. .. .. .. Ted began singing in talent shows when he was 15 years old, and at age eighteen he picked up the guitar and found his own unique sound through writing original lyrics and music. .... After high school Ted enlisted into the United States Air Force where, in his off duty time, he focused on perfecting his craft and honing his performance skills. Ted played the local bar scene to packed houses and even got the honor of performing for thousands of his fellow troops during a tour in Saudi Arabia. When his service ended, Ted soon realized that his dreams were in Music City and in December 1999 made the move to Nashville. .... Born in Longview, Texas and raised in Augusta, Georgia, Ben Stennis fell in love with country music at an early age but didn’t realize that being a singer/songwriter was his heart’s desire until his freshman year of college. Within four months of picking up the guitar Ben began writing songs and started a guitar/banjo harmony group with a couple friends. For the next four years they toured the college bar circuit playing their brand of country, bluegrass, and southern rock. .... Ted and Ben met in May 2000 in Nashville at a Douglas Corner Cafe writer's showcase where they were both performing. After hearing each other perform, they combined writing styles and soon discovered the rich blend and unique sound their voices made when brought together. .... Since forming Waycross in 2000, they have been building their song catalog and fine-tuning their vocal and live performance while playing at various clubs and venues in Nashville and around the country. "Their songs are honest and real. When you hear these guys play live they sound just as good as they do on tape," says Matt Lindsey (publisher- Matt Lindsey Music). .... In the fall of 2006, while playing a show in downtown Franklin, Tennessee, Waycross caught the eye of Dreamcatcher Management’s President Jim Mazza and Vice President of Artist Management Howard Fields. Dreamcatcher and Waycross began a working relationship and in early 2007 recorded a song called “Nineteen” that would turn out to change their lives forever. .... “Nineteen” first aired on the nationally syndicated “After Midnite with Blair Garner” radio program and received an unheard of 97% positive feedback rating. From there the song seemed to take a life of its own, exploding in the Dallas, Tampa Bay, and San Francisco markets, just to name a few, and all of this happening without a Record Label or Promotion Team. .... In the June 30th 2007 issue of ..Billboard Magazine.., Waycross entered the top 100 Country Charts at 58 as the “Hot Shot Country Debut”. They then shot a video for “Nineteen” that was originally intended for their Myspace page but ended up getting picked up by the Great American Country and CMT Pure Country music video channels. Waycross’ video even got nominated for the Top 50 Videos of the Year by GAC. .... “This past year has been incredible and we are grateful to our management company for believing in us, country radio for taking a chance on us and to the awesome fans of country music for supporting us.
