And for the record ... a little classic rock ... The Eagles, Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, The Doobie Brothers, Led Zepplin ... don't get me started. How about the Clash, Psychedelic Furs and the SeX pIsToLs. New bands ... Maroon 5, Moby and just about every artist on the Ultra Chill CDs. Check out Corinne Bailey Rae.
RECENT READS: Robert Rodriguez's book Rebel Without A Crew, Screenplay: The Foundations of Screenwriting and The Filmmaker's Handbook. I also enjoy books on modern design, architecture and mid 20th century modern designers. I read numerous magazines (i.e. Dwell, Met Home & Stereophile).

Wayne Slaten - Filmmaker Taking a machete to the intellectual thickets of society.
About me: I am a filmmaker living in Houston, Texas. My film companies are Fire Pig Productions (check it out in My Friends) and Moonlite Filmwerks. We are currently in pre-production on our first feature length film and most ambitious project to date titled "BACKROAD". Check out the BACKROAD MySpace page under our Friend Space below and please add it to your MySpace friends.
In July 2008 we completed shooting for TOAST, a student film project written and directed by Arielle Slaten. Post production will wrap up in September 2008. We wrapped up filming on ONE, our entry in the 48 Hour Film Project, on June 8th. In February, we completed, LAST STAND, a short film that was a semi-finalist in George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead Video Contest on MySpace. My 24 minute science fiction short film, ZombiNatioN, is an official selection in the 2008 Indie Film Festival. We have two films in preproduction for the summer of 2008.
Besides filmmaking, my days are spent managing an internet business. I have a background in art and interior design. I am in to architecture, high end audio, collecting mid 20th century modern art and furniture. I am always interested in anything related to English bulldogs, Mini Coopers, and modern art (meeting artists or collectors).
This short film was made for the Houston 48 Hour Film Project on June 6th through 8th, 2008. We drew "drama" as our genre. The required elements were:
CHARACTER: Frank or Frieda Gilroy
LINE: "He's been around a time or two."
PROP: A light bulb
TAG LINE: One woman. One future. One regret.
SYNOPSIS: In a post apocalyptic future, ONE woman is left with nothing but memories and ONE regret.
This film was conceived, written, filmed and edited in 46 hours.
