| About Wayne Eagles |
|
A musician for over 30 years and a professional guitar instructor for over 20, Wayne Eagles performs and records both as leader and sideman in a range of musical styles. He has music-related BA, BA Hons, and MA degrees and is an Endorsing Artist for a wide-variety of musical instrument companies.
Although currently instructing a wide-range of styles, Wayne was the first person to teach rock guitar in a Canadian University. He has been a Guitar Performance Instructor at Carleton University's School for Studies in Art and Culture (SSAC: Music) since September 1992.
Wayne maintains a busy private music-teaching schedule, does independent concert promotion, and acted as Concert Manager for the Carleton University Committee on Cultural Activities (UCCA).
Wayne's performance history includes appearances at international Jazz and Blues Festivals, University music showcases, numerous television appearances, and extensive club work. He is the recipient of many grants and awards in support of his music.
Wayne latest jazz/rock recording is THE MILLIGAN-EAGLES PROJECT (TetraArtist CD-001) with bassist Mike Milligan and drummer Billy Kilson, released 2005. His debut CD, HOW'S NOW? (Carleton Sound CSCD-001), was released in 2000. Both met with significant critical acclaim.
In the planning are a trio project with bassist Stu Watkins and drummer Adam Nussbaum, in addition to a new ensemble with long-time collaborator/drummer Bruce Wittet.
Wayne lives in Ottawa - Canada's national capital - with his wife Anna, son Jake and daughter Natasha.
