Like the song, I was born in Chicago!
In my youth, I got to see the real blues in Chicago clubs like The Checker Board Lounge and Peppers Lounge.
I played the local R&B scene until moving to Los Angeles. There, I played for Solar Records (Sound of Los Angeles Records) whose roster included The Whispers, Shalamar, Lakeside and Dynasty. Dynasty was the writers and producers for Solar records. We toured as "Galaxy of Stars", with such acts as Teddy Pendergras, Larry Grahm, Rose Royce, Millie Jackson, and Frankie Beverly & Maze.
Currently, I play in 3 Los Angeles-based bands: Blues Highway, The Mule Blues Band, and 226 South Wabash (Chicago Blues).
