I grew up in Maiden North Carolina. Started playing guitar at age 9. Played in local bands from grades 6 through high school. I discovered bluegrass in 1972 when I saw Lester Flatt, Mac Wiseman, and Marty Stuart at the Spruce Pine Bluegrass Festival. I Became a Navy Musician in 1976, was stationed in Yokosuka Japan, with the 7 fleet band Orient Express. After being discharged in 1978 I went to college at San Joaquin Delta College and transferred to the University of the Pacific. I earned my degree in Music Therapy and a bachelor's in music. I Joined the Country Current with the U.S NAVY band in Washington, DC in 1987. I've played for 4 U.S presidents, and in 49 of the 50 states, and I retired in March of 2008. I'm presently playing with my own band "Wayne Taylor and Appaloosa". We started recording this week and should have a new CD by 2009.
An absolutely amazing performance at Moniaive Bluegrass Festival last weekend. Everyone loved the band and your spot in the Church on Sunday morning has a lot of the locals saying they'll come to the concerts next year.

Hello, thanks a lot for adding me. You are a wonderful group. I hope you were appreciating my overtone singing compositions and my music therapy path. Keep in touch, I'm planning to live and work in Arizona. Ciao, Raffaele Schiavo
Greetings from the north of Sweden. Great music and amazing musicians on both CD's. Thanks for your friendship here and on the Americana Appreciation Society as well. Believe you were our first friend there :).
Hi. I'm honored that you added me as a friend. I love your singing, and as a fellow songwriter, I really admire your songwriting ability. When I first heard "Rose Gold Wedding Band" on Bluegrasscountry.org, I got goosebumps, and immediately had to learn all the words. Also. you and Russell Moore sound really excellent together.
