At first, the Wayward Jackson guys seem a little outside any normal element. Where most of us would find warmth and comfort, these guys live on the cusp of that place. Beyond a somewhat hightened sense of their own selves lies a passionate group of guys...passionate for what they love to do...to give you a good nights rockin!
Wayward Jackson met in none other than jackson mississippi eight years ago (and they are none too hesitant to let you know). At that time a small pocket of young musical hopefuls were beginning a wave of musical interest in their home town, each band giving a new face to the old ragged out music scene in jackson. Operating under several different names the Wayward boys took it upon themselves to be the "rowdy ones", often times playing shows in venues void of a music loving crowd. But they have had their "upsides" as well, opening for groups like Violent Femmes, Stir, and Tantric and headlining local festivals. Never letting empty rooms nor any nay-sayers discourage them from keeping their passion for the music they make has been the one reason they have come this far and will go farther.
Over the last eight years there has been not only the forementioned name changes but they have undergone several personnel changes as well, each cycle of the band only tooling and sharpening the vibe they have. It's been a bone-broke road for these guys, but their hearts are true to what they believe...themselves and their music.
