Wayward we are, by name and by nature travelling people of the road. Musicians who will play for all who will pay us in food, drink or clothing.
Following in the footsteps of the Goliards, Troubadours, Trouvères and Minnesingers, Wayward sing of unrequited love, the pleasures of wine, food and travels in foreign lands.
**************************************************************** Ricarda Reeck and Nick Potts formed Wayward in March 1999 prior to heading over to Europe to discover the music of the Hurdy Gurdy and Bagpipe. We attended the St Chartier Festival as well as several medieval festivals in France, Belgium and Germany. In Australia Wayward has performed at festivals such as The Abbey Medieval Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, St Albans Folk Festival and Ironfest.
The years 2004, 2007 and 2008 saw Wayward back in Europe playing at events in Belgium, such as the Historia Mundi time line event, historic events at Gent Castle & the Walraversijde Museum, as well as at Archeon in Holland, Burg Wallenstein in Germany, and the Stiklestad St. Olav Festival & the Trondheim St. Olav Music Festival in Norway.
Wayward are at present working on a new recording as well as heading back to Norway to play at Stiklestad and Trondheim.
Nick and Ricarda also play with The Gruntled.

Hello!!! It's been awhile - sorry there hasn't been in any Australian shows for many months but we've been busy in Europe with a bunch of touring and we're now recording our new album in Berlin (scheduled for release in March). But to make up for it, here's a big (and silly) Merry Christmas from us (and from some hippos too) :
Some bold new artistic direction? Nah, Just us being silly!!! We did this track for our label's "Black Snow - the completely different Xmas compilation". (and of course, visit our youtube channel for a high quality version)
Wishing you a very silly Silly Season and we'll see you back in Australia sometime in 2010!
Hey. less than three weeks till get home... all of a sudden 7 months seems like a very short amount of time!! I hope we can see each other some where soon (as in next year) x Jane
Thanks for inviting us into your circle of friends. Our compliments for your music! We wish you lots of success and all the best. Greetings from the Netherlands
