November 1, 2008 - Select Start uploads "Kiss Your Genre Goodbye", from their JAN 2009 release, "<3", to their MySpace profile.
3,500 plays day one! 17,000+ plays week one!
Select Start rocks a blend of synth-infused, power pop indie rock at their live shows, gaining attention throughout Florida and up and down the East coast.
Taking their name from the two Nintendo controller buttons, Select Start's three founding members, Joe, Adam and Patrick, completed their lineup adding Matt and Jason.
In 2005, music from "Black Hair That's to Dye For", was licensed for a Rhino Linings national TV commercial, when a nationally renowned agency found this song on Pure Volume.
At the first ever Taste of Chaos where they were promoting the Warped Tour's comic book theme, Kevin Lyman "selected start" for their first show outside of Tampa Bay: the Jacksonville Warped Tour Kevin Says Stage. They also played the Ernie Ball stage.
In 2006, the Florida Music Festival's Indie Film Jam exhibited their "Care A Little For Caroline" music video found on their Sonicbids Supersonic EPK. Carson Daly posted it as a personal favorite on CarsonDaly.tv!
With music described as "Your first kiss with tongue" to "the soundtrack to your no boys allowed sleepover" to "an eargasm", since the December 2007 MySpace posting of "Baby You Amaze", this song is nearing a half a million MySpace plays!
Through TuneCore, over 11,000 Select Start downloads have been purchased from iTunes, Rhapsody and Napster!
When asked in an interview about the time the band spends on MySpace, Joe said: "Too much. We don't believe in fans... we believe in friends. So we answer every message and comment. It really hard to keep up with. It used to be just Adam and I running the myspace, now all five us us do it. But every minute spent is worth it. We love keeping in touch with everyone."
Select Start uses Broadtexter's Mobile Club and Stickam to keep in touch with their "friends", and PickRSet and ..Eventful to promote their shows, using a Verizon Wireless broadband card and laptop while touring in their van.
After completing their fifth self-booked national tour in Nov/Dec 2008, in 2009, Select Start will expand their touring, having enlisted the Sys Agencysaveyourshows@gmail.com, for booking support.
Expect Select Start to take their show to the mid-west, southwest, and west coast, sharing their name and live sound with everyone in their path.
There's no stopping the SS train, so get on board!

NEW MUSIC, HERE & NOW!!!
Just wanted to let you know I've been hard at work in the studio for my long overdue sophomore album, and have just posted a new track for you to preview. The song is called "SLOW ME DOWN" and it's a demo that I did at home, co-written by the very talented Johnny Reid! I am so excited about the new album that I just couldn't wait to share SOMETHING with everybody, so I hope you enjoy this little "sneak peak"!!
I look forward to hearing from you about the track, and encourage you to check out the new pictures I've put up.
Hope you are having a great week!
