The beggining of WDNFRA goes back to october 2006.
Mat, who badly wanted a band, encouraged his brother Fred to play drums so they could start a band. WDNFRA's first form was created. Then Jo Joined the band a few weeks later on bass so Mat could finally be able to try some of his songs ideas. The Three guys from WDNFRA gave some shows in the Montreal Area to finally realise, close to 8 months later, that they had reach a certain limit having only one guitarist in the band. They thought it was time to put some real kick ass solos in they're songs and add some more powerful rhythms too. And so they faced the challenge, trying to find a Lead guitarist to complete the band.
That period took a long time and was also really frustrating for the band cause they were not able to put they're hands on someone serious about music and when talking to a guitarist with potential it leaded to nothing. WDNFRA being not in a Death or hardcore metal genre ( the main style in the montreal metal scene) complicated things and lets be honest, they're demo at that time wasn't really great, actually it sucked bad. Not the songs or anything, just the way the sound was and how depressed Mat's voice sounded on that record, it made the whole thing boring to listen.
This say, people were not really excited about joining the WDNFRA's adventure. One day at a band's practice, Jo remembers the name of an old friend playing guitar, Max, who was called Boud apparently... So they invited him at one of there jam, there first real audition, to see what would happen. That first apparition by Boud had nothing magical, a poor set-list was gave in front of him and Mat was tired so he would became really mad for almost nothing. Things like that happen, but it didnt change the fact that the band was really impressed by Boud's guitar skills and he seemed interested in joining the project even if that first meeting turned out bad. He came back to another practice, telling himself things would go better next time, and it turned out to be true. That's how, close to one year later from the idea of starting a band, that the real story began.
That brings us to the month of october 2007, the turning point of the story. Due to Boud's apparition, everything seemed to be possible. Bringing some new ideas that made the songs a lot better, especially cause of his excellents solos, the addition of Boud in the band was really appreciated during there first gig being 4, in a friend's private party, and also in the other few gigs that followed is arrival.
And so WDNFRA continues to rock with that upcoming release with a fan base that grows everyday, spreading the WDNFRA name all around the world!
