Once upon a time 70s and 90s fell in love, so they decided to get married. During their honeymoon, dressed with old records by the Stones, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple or Pink Floyd for the hard sex moments; and with classics from Radiohead, Nirvana, Foo Fighters or Jimmy Eat World for the parties 'til dawn, there was born a band which will continue the legacy. Against The Odds. Everything started when the only neighbour from Alcobendas city that was not combing himself, made out a pure, brand new sound. His name was John Bona, in love with a blonde dancer and a red bass, and he enlisted in the ATO's army bringing with him a special ability to be the perfect showman. He knew Edu Gonzalez when this man frightened a gang of thugs, only with his angry Fender and his always unlimited Rock Star attitude (so great that even included a cute groupie). Both guys agreed that Chuso Ruiz's face was familiar to them: that boy wandering the corridors with a Strato in his shoulder and a watering-can in his neck. His picture was in the milk-bottles, denouncing the disappearence of Mark Knopfler's secret son. They soon realized that they could do great things together… … so at the beginning, they created Crazy Soul, a first band. Nevertheless they realized it wasn't enough. Out of its rib was born a solid formation, devoted and full of energy, shot from his drumsticks by a powerful drummer. But due to a problem with his plates, which appeared every night misterously wet with whisky, Samer Kabbani had to retire from the project. It was of vital importance to find out the best substitute. After lots of smoke in the rehearsal's place before testing every candidate, someone arrived clearing the clouds thickness: Roberto Parra, a superhero able to bring Punk's last name out. The union of these four members made Against The Odds, lifting their voices on top of the ashes, the dust and the cracked eyes and the bleeding ears tied to the amplifiers. The classic tracks, like the rough anthems as Take Me (to the heart of town), Blue Lights, My Turn or Sharon, are now shaking hands with surprising new sounds from the dark Back Off, the intense Hard Porn, the shining Money or the overflowing You Turn Me On. All with the view in that thing defined as 'Renewed Classic rock', pioneer opening the doors, against all odds, to the more real and vibrant music never wished by the heart. Against The Odds. Todo comenzo cuando el unico vecino de Alcobendas que llevaba años sin pasar por la peluqueria comenzo a vislumbrar un sonido puro y con garra. Se llamaba John Bona y, enamorado de una bailarina rubia y un bajo encarnado, se alisto en las filas ATO trayendo bajo el brazo una especial habilidad para ser el showman ideal. Conocio a Edu Gonzalez cuando, a golpe de riff emitido por una rabiosa Fender, espanto a unos matones plantandoles cara gracias a su siempre ilimitada actitud de Rock Star, que era tanta que hasta incluia una bella groupie en el lote. Ambos coincidieron en que les sonaba la cara de Chuso Ruiz, aquel rubio que se cruzaban en los pasillos, con una Strato al hombro y una regadera al cuello. No tardarian en recordar su foto pegada a los cartones de leche, anunciando la desaparicion del hijo secreto de Mark Knopfler. Los tres se dieron cuenta enseguida de que juntos podrian hacer grandes cosas… … y en el principio, crearon Crazy Soul, una primera banda. Y vieron ellos que no era bueno. De su costilla cobro vida una formacion solida, entregada y llena de energia, la que disparaba desde sus baquetas un potente bateria. Pero un problema con sus platos, que misteriosamente aparecian cada noche regados con whisky y hacian imposible su recuperacion ante los ensayos, obligo a Samer Kabbani a dejar el proyecto. Era vital encontrar al sustituto perfecto. Despues de mucho humo concentrado en el local antes de probar a cada candidato, llego alguien que sobrepaso el espesor de esas nubes: Roberto Parra, un superheroe capaz de ponerle apellidos al punk. La union de los cuatro creo Against The Odds, alzando la voz por encima de las cenizas, del polvo y de los ojos agrietados y los oidos sangrantes atados a los amplificadores. Los temas antiguos, ya fueran himnos agitados como Take Me (to the heart of town), Blue Lights, My Turn o Sharon, como desgarradoras piezas al estilo de Today, Could we restart this game o Breaths of truth, se dan ahora la mano con los sorprendentes nuevos sonidos de la oscura Back Off, la intensa Hard Porn, la brillante Money o la desmadrada You Turn Me On. Todo con la vista puesta en lo que se definira como ‘Rock clasico renovado’ y abrira las puertas, contra todo pronostico, a la musica mas real y vibrante que un corazon haya deseado jamas.
