.. .. .. To look for the origins of fucking beautiful in the top Swiss indie-guitar-pop band lovebugs is deceptive but only logical as fucking beautiful’s frontman, songwriter and all round boss Sebastian „Baschi“ Hausmann was a founding member of the band and for nine years contributed his bass and lyrical skills. He left the lovebugs after having reached gold with their 2001 album „away days“..... In 2000 he formed „skirt“, later to be called „fucking beautiful“ as a side project soon to be the main. The first album „we are“ was much noticed, being totally different from the then rather soft going lovebugs. „we are“ was recorded live and captures the raw energy which is an important element of fucking beautiful’s style. Baschis voice is intoxicating and his presence as a singer and guitarist is overwhelming. .... In 2002 the band dislodged to London for a year and a half, playing in loads of clubs and assembling a large and faithful following. Despite growing interest of various record companies a lucrative deal was not forthcoming. But with tons of new songs and live experience in their suitcase they used the momentum to record, and in November 2004 release their new record in Switzerland called „rub it in“, expanding in the process into a five piece..... The band calls their style glam-soul-punk, which only goes to show how hard it is to categorize their sound. Milk Framboise, the lady in the band, with her vaudevillian presence on stage and her strange but beautiful backing vocals adds that extra dash of glamour and style. On the album, sing along anthems like “fucking beautiful“ sit comfortably next to take-no-prisoners punk rockers like „drive by“ and full blown hits like „show me what you got“ (voted best Swiss song of 2004 by the Swiss national radio station drs3) or intimate soul bearers like „average male“. Inspired by the success of „rub it in“ they start recording the next album just one year after..... Released in January 2006 the album titled „blood of gold“ is full of blood, guts, sweat, glitter and gold, and as versatile and challenging as ever. Another year of touring mainly in Switzerland but also France and Germany saw the band become even more prolific. .... In January 2007 Sebastian and Milk released an extremely intimate record. This side project was named after the last fucking beautiful record „blood of gold“. And without resting even for a second on their well earned laurels „fucking beautiful“ went straight into the studio to record their fourth album. The release date is set for the end of summer 2007 and it’s title sounds quite appropriate:.. „here comes the pain again“.. Until then check our website for new songs to be added to the download section and all the usual news and gossip. ..Cheers.... .. ..www.fuckingbeautiful.ch.... ..www.bloodofgold.ch......
