Gone For Good is a rock 'n' roll band out of Connecticut. The band boasts a modern sound with classic overtones, taking cues from every decade of rock 'n' roll. With the crunch of Queens Of The Stone Age, the rockabilly edge of The Stray Cats, the pop sound of Supergrass and the moodiness of The Doors, it's no wonder people that see this band live never know how to pinpoint their sound, except by simply saying "rock 'n' roll."
The band self-released their demo EP, The Drawing Board, in October and have been playing in support of that release, opening for the likes of Oxford Collapse, Slim Cessna's Auto Club and more. They are currently in the studio with Andy Stackpole (Mos Def, Bad Brains, Living Colour) this October to record their debut EP proper. In the meantime, they will be making the rounds throughout the Northeast, with a proper release and tour scheduled for early winter '09.
"Out of nowhere, it seems, New London's Gone for Good have exploded on the local rock scene like Pete Doherty's latest promise to complete rehab. A power trio stylistically painted in the day-glow tones of every great rock influence... Their material ranges from “Old Seat,” which sounds like a mournful Jim Morrison whistling a theme for a Morricone soundtrack, to “Happy,” a rave-up you'd expect if the Reverend Horton Heat was fronting the Boxtops."- Rick Koster, The Day
